Everton Transfer Thread 2016

Tbh Dave I think he gets more fed up at the questions about transfers. Seems more than happy when talking about the football side of things.

And it's not just a stance he's taken up since joining Everton. Think he was always pretty cagey re. transfers when at S'ton anyway

Seems over the moon to me talk about new players when we have signed them and happy to tell the press when he thinks he needs to add to the squad.

Works both ways fella

Yes but as in individual 'rumours' he steadfastly refuses.

Once they've signed it's a different issue.

And there's not much really in saying 'we need to add to the squad'. He just refuses to go into detail and rightly so, it's his prerogative.

Think we have done ok in the window so far. Dont get me wrong, I was hoping and still am hoping for the vaunted 'Marquee' signing but we have strengthened where we really needed to (other than upfront which is a worry). We have shifted a lot of the freeloaders on and I am sure we will continue to do so as the end of the window approaches. Hopefully the clubs IT dept have knocked up some ace videos of McGeady step overs while editing out the final product and lashed the messi quotes on him being a world beater on there. Possibly they have talked to the company who made that brochure a couple of years ago for Michael Owen to showcase the talents of Oumar Niasse?!! Hopefully we will still go in for Ziyech and Strootman and I would like us to get Remy in on loan as think he would do a job for us as back-up or playing alongside Lukaku. Get in a couple of Walsh gems, have a word with Barnsley to see who their latest gem is and add a goalkeeper and we are laughing bags. A win tomorrow and thats 7 points from 9 and we can market ourselves as champions league contenders for the rest of the window......

the way sissoko played at the Euros, yet he's still at Newcastle speaks volumes I think. He was immense at the Euros though, so there is a player in there
I have said many times over but how can you genuinely judge a player simply on the basis of them playing for newcastle?

The same newcastle who have fought relegation for years, and eventually got relegated. The same team that was managed by alan (no wins in 2016) pardew, john (best manager in the league) carver and steve (can only do well in holland) Mclaren. It is mad to connect that a club so badly run and managed to the players being bad automatically.

PErsonally i like sissoko, think he is a good player just been playing for a crap team for the last few years. Wouldn't want to pay 35 million for him but for 25 i would certainly want to deal. Powerful and mobile midfielder.

Was funny hearing Wjnaldum went missing vs burnley last week, just like the true geordie pointed out all last season, can't be arsed for away games.

Yes him and his assistant manager have gone to the press multiple times on adding to the squad before the season started and after.

Let's not forget the backhanded slap to the Club on transfers taking to long and him having to sell the project because others are struggling.

You,'ve got too keep your pro club post quota up today so no breaks for you till lunch time

I'm not pro-club.

I think we should have done better in the window.

But I don't see the need to be overly negative, dramatic and actually, never actually happy with the club I support.

I watch football (and sport in general) for enjoyment and entertainment.

I've never actually seen you post anything positive on here so I do wonder what you actually get out of it?

Wondered how long it would take for you to crack and turn it on the fans rather than the club.

Come on Blues, let's add the finishing touches to the squad. We literally need one class goalkeeper, a backup striker and a central midfielder and we have an extremely strong squad!

How hard can it be if the money is really there? Let's go, Leicester proved it can be achieved last season even if you're not amongst the status quo, get the players in and let's have a real good go at getting into Europe.

4 kids there who koeman will be loathe to play.

Mori and McCarthy arent top players.

Think again, your wording is harsh. I don't think Koeman would loathe playing anyone except Niase and McGeady. Davies and Dowell, I think they can expect to see game time. Especially Davies given the right back situation. Hopefully Galloway will be back next year ready for the first team and Pennington seemed to be doing well before the injury.

As much as I agree in Mori and McCarthy not being "top" players, they are both established premiership and international players and shouldn't be discounted the way you did. No mention of Besic in your post either.

As much as I share your hope for exceptional talent, I think your expectations are a little too high for this window if you see it as a missed opportunity. I see it as we have done well given the timescale and large amount of change the club has been going through. Each to their own I guess.
