Managing ecxpectations, can you imagine this thread and the speculation if he'd have confirmed interest and nothing happened.
Also saved any follow up questions etc etc

If it does happen he can say at that time there was no interest.

Only my thoughts.

It is interesting to note when he is asked the two Hart questions and says no, he looks down and to the left both times. Every other question he looks right. Definitely On.
perhaps he was there in an everton top and he was glancing over at him wondering if it was the right time to unveil him.

or an inside joke because he has been an everton player since he left the game last night.

Don't know what to make of this.
A lot of the mainstream media were convinced that Everton had at least a genuine interest and I think any club would at least have to look at the situation.

On the other hand, if Everton had a genuine interest in signing Hart the agreement should have been made at the same time as the Stones transfer. I think City may be trying to recoup too much of the Stones money for Evertons liking.

On the other hand, in spite of criticism he is still a huge improvement on our existing keepers and is one of the best in the Premiership.

On the other hand , he has made it clear that he wants to be at City and I think any deal he may sign will include some kind of path back to that club if circumstances were to change.

On the other hand, nobody tells the truth during transfer windows , least of all players, managers and agents.

I am glad I have cleared that up for myself.

I think he was just trying to avoid talking about Hart. Seems pretty clear that we are in for him.

As if City are bothered. They couldn't care less if they have a keeper in the squad earning 120k a week and kept as third choice. Money means nothing for them, nothing at all. If they ever get questioned about FFP their owner will just invent another sponsorship deal with one of his many companies to get around the rule.
City care very much about this.
The last thing they want is an unhappy keeper playing in the reserves and/or sitting on the bench , a player who is by some distance the fans favourite.
If, the team has some poor results and they leak some soft goals can you imagine the groundswell of pressure from supporters to bring Hart back.
Make no mistake, Pep wants him well away, Europe would be good.

Good grief. How many "other hands" do you have? Any other extra body parts? The ladies must love you.

Simple really mate.

Hart is a massive presence at that club and in the dressing room. He's England's No.1 and a high-profile player.

Pep doesn't rate him for the system he wants to play. However, he could easily try and 'train' Hart up to his standards.

However, he doesn't want the extra pressure of

a) a big ego in the dressing room
b) a stick for the media to beat him with

should things start to go wrong.

It's nothing malicious, it's just how he works. He's the best and the best can do just that.

Interesting how nothing has been made of Mourinho's treatment of Schweinsteiger, which has been much worse.
fair points about hart. I think the difference with bastian, is that he was mainly injured last year and there were already rumours of him annoying teammates by having weeks off "recouping" at hoe or on beaches. Hart might be an idiot, but no one has said he doesn't put every effort in.
