  • Will you walk into my parlor?” said the snider to the fly;
“’Tis the prettiest little parlor that ever you did spy.
The way into my parlor is up a winding stair,
And I have many pretty things to show when you are there.”
“O no, no,” said the little fly, “to ask me is in vain,
For who goes up your winding stair can ne’er come down again.”

    “I’m sure you must be weary, dear, with soaring up so high;
Will you rest upon my little bed?” said the spider to the fly.
“There are pretty curtains drawn around, the sheets are fine and thin,
And if you like to rest awhile, I’ll snugly tuck you in.”
“O no, no,” said the little fly, “for I’ve often heard it said,
They never, never wake again, who sleep upon your bed.”
your beautiful poetry touches a snider steve. thank you.

For whatever purpose, your attempt to shoe-horn my post in a specific direction in some vain attempt to fulfil your own agenda is unwarranted.

I was merely speculating that the supposed £100m bounded in the press might be in reference to an investment: it was not a statement of fact.

Nor did I specify what such investment in any way entailed. It could be buying the shares or equally it could refer to stadium purchases et al.

My point was that the supposed £100m transfer kitty that people constantly refer to is a fabricated amount based on speculation in the press.

If you want to discuss the financing of the club and you're opinion of Moshiri's investment then there's other threads to fulfil your needs.
Buying shares is not investing. I don't invest in Apple if I buy their shares. Behave. If you are going to use the term wrongly in a misleading way then don't complain if someone corrects you.

There's absolutely no evidence he has spent any money on the stadium and in fact evidence to suggest he hasn't. Simply because if he had then the share ownership would need to change again. What people now are suggesting is that another company will build the stadium and Everton will lease it.

Your fuming because we haven't signed a player that you probably hadn't heard off until last week mate? Really?

Absolutely mate, I'd never heard of him before last week.mbut that's not my point is it.....the fact we wanted him and have taken so long to get it done and now Arsenal have joined and look to have won the race worries me massively. We are taking so long to get deals done others are nipping in and taking them from under our noses.

I am sure Everton, along with every other club, draw up a list of players they may be interested in, this would be an extensive list and include some very high quality players who we probably not be able to get but may be worth a try. The list would go down to players we would only take if all else failed.
So at this time we are linked to loads of players, the press has also linked us with every player looking to improve his contract by blackmailing his own club.
I will be glad when the window closes and we can put all this nonsense behind us, the sooner the powers that be wise up and shut the transfer window prior to the league commencing the better.

Thing is mate, none of the players we have signed so far the papers got wind of as early as that, so i am doubtful about our supposed bid straight away, who says it's not Depor or an agent leaking somethign to force Arsenal to come in fast, and meanwhilst we are negotiating with another who the media haven't got a clue about.

Remember last time we actually competed against Arsenal for a player he actually came to us btw, in Mirallas, they have also had a long standing interest in Williams and tried a few times for him - we got him as well.

so if they have 'beaten' us to a lad i have never heard of before about 4 days ago, i am not really that bothered. Trust me though, if we had really wanted the lad - Arsenal don't nip in and do business fast to beat anyone to a player, they are the single worst club in world football for procrastinating over deals mate

I just think it's strange when wages are no issue

Wages are always an issue no matter who your trying to sign, when utd signed Pogba they thought his wages wasn't an issue, but if he would have asked for double then there's a good chance that utd would've have said no, Everton may have thought the wage these players were asking for were just to much, you have to draw the line somewhere.

I agree with this.

Wondering if there is some bad blood with Arsenal seeing as what happened did happen at the start of this year and perhaps more to come? Dein was rumoured and a certain billionaire. They hate our guts. But they have CL so they win every time.

I spend half my life living about 8 minutes from the Emirates. I've yet to meet an Arsenal who gives us the slightest thought unless it's a couple of days before a match with them.

Whether Kroenke hates us is open to doubt. Do multi billionaires waste time & emotion on an entity which doesn't trouble their team too much?

It works in the favor of the big clubs to have it the way it is so I doubt they will do that.

Personally I think it should shut before the season starts and there shouldn't be a January window. Your squad at the start of a tournament should be all you have to choose from. I don't even think teams should be able to draft in kids or reserves. It destroys the integrity of the competition.

Hope your right, well soon find out tho.

So...are people suggesting that if Moshiri had not bought 49% of the shares, with up to 75% being his eventual take up, and Bill and the old board were still in place, we would have spent no more money than has already been spent? We would have broken or equalled our record transfer fee, we would have committed millions to a parcel of land on the river side, we would have acquired Koeman and Walsh and we would have cleared the bulk of our debts?
There will always been a section of 'support' particularly on the internet forums, that will never be happy or even believe anything that is good about the club they supposedly support, and I suspect that for these people, its the 'argument' and 'confrontation' that gives them their buzz. It's actually nothing to do with football, its just the way they are, probably, in 'real life'
The positive way to react to what is happening at Everton currently, is to embrace the changes and be confident about the future.
Some people shout and scream about what they want, but when they get it they don't want it anymore. I have grave doubts about the motives of these self proclaimed 'supporters'.

I have grave doubts about gullible people that believe everything they read and take it as gospel.

I know that's true but you also have to pay the market rate. If you want top players like Hart you need to pay their wages.
