Transfer Rumour Lamine Kone

I really wanted Kone, but I'm coming to see @chicoazul point here.

We are a club that prides itself on playing for the shirt and playing for the community. That doesn't mean we can't now be ruthless and brutal when it comes to ridding ourselves of dead wood or pursuing players who will make our team better - we deserve the best.

But at the dismissal of our primary values?

I would still be pleased to have Kone because he's a solid defender, but I'd certainly be very cautious about his character thereafter and id never entirely warm to him.

We're not plucky Everton anymore, no. And neither should we ever return to that mindset. But we are a club of principle and we should be able to maintain a balance here.

Tricky one.

I mean I agree with wanting to keep the clubs identity and obviously the good things and attitudes we have of and on the field and keeping our ethos. But I bet city don't give a hoot or Chelsea and they're trophy cabinet is more updated than ours. Dirty cash I want you dirty cash I need you ;) you can still be a well run club! But sell our soul to win the league? I'm of to get champions 18/19 on my Everton top

The lad is obviously a money grabbing so-and-so but I want him all the same because I want us to finish high in the table. If he does the same to us as he's now doing to Sunderland that won bother me as long as we get paid.

Rotting in Sunderland with Moyes at the helm fighting relegation for less money. Sound career advice.
Next up on that crystal ball.

He's been there barely six months mate and he's already disrespecting the club and it's fans by behaving in this manner. Maybe after he'd put his back into helping improve them for a at least a season or two and showing some sort of honour for the contract he's signed.

Just because he looks like coming to us doesn't mean we should turn a blind eye to this behaviour and make excuses for it pal, we're not kopites.

...sadly, the culture of the game has changed. What Kone is doing to Sunderland will happen to us, other clubs will benefit from our situations and we will benefit from theirs. I don't know if Kone will end up at Everton but the power is with players these days no matter how distasteful that is.

It is indeed. What a shitshow football has become.

Compare the attitude and arrogance of these athletes with the various examples of dedication and professionalism over the last two weeks in Brazil.

* not including American garage wreckers and Russian smackfiends

Koeman goosed Southampton.

Arsed?

If Short had given Kone the improved contract he was promised by Big Sam at the start of the summer, this issue wouldn't have ever occurred.

They've only got themselves to blame.
