Dear Collen Nolan,

Can you help? Coming form the Wirral I have spent years believeing that I am a 'Wool'. I even remember the graffitti on one of the mersey ferries 'Scouse scallies batter Wirral Woools'. Today I found out, due to changes to the Merseyrail map, I am really a 'Plazzy'.

@chicoazul Quick question mate. Being born in Kirkdale prior to 1974 I consider myself scouse. But anyone born before that date (1st April 74 I think) was born in Lancashire. Are we wools?

No mate. An arbitrary boundary set for governmental purposes does not indentify you. Happy to confirm the good people of Kirkdale are scouse are per the official woolmap.

It's a variation of wool but different mate. Like saying Northern Ireland is Celt and so is Scotland, but they're slightly different.

I was hoping the Wirral would be thankful to me for giving them an actual identity rather than lobbing them all in with Wigan.
