The match report on the Guardian website by Paul Wilson is shockingly biased: worth a look just to laugh at. He seems very bitter that Spurs didn't win!

In contrast, the report in The Telegraph is very well-balanced. Interesting to read them in that order, so totally different that you would think they were different games. I do sometimes wonder if some journos actually watch the games...

pause the video at 0.08 and you will see Stekelenberg is positioned way too much on his left side of the goal

look where the ball is when the header is made, bang central in goal, it then diverts into the corner after the bounce.

if stekelenberg keeps central or central to the right hand side of the goal he at least blocks the header or gets a hand to it.

in normal play it looks fast and looks like he cannot do anything but positioning and anticipation and reaction is key attributed in a goalie

if cross comes from right you need to position yourself properly, same applies if the cross comes from the left.

You must have been one hell of a goalie @RomanReigns . Do you have a you tube vid of your career highlights ?

You don't keep central in that situation though. You protect the near post. Look again at 0:41. That header was not hit 'bang central'...it is closer to the near post.

That goal is on Baines for not blocking the cross and Holgate being late and Lamela beating him to the ball.

You clearly don't know a thing about keeper positioning. A bit like @Joey66 who thinks a keeper should be rooted to their line when someone shoots from 30 yards.

Can't believe the negativity on here. We drew against a good team despite being pretty clearly short on fitness and options off the bench. Those problems should be fixed with some time. And we were well in the game for the first 60 minutes. The announcers even said Spurs goal was against the run of play at the time

I wouldn't post negatively for the sake of it, decentish performance today but with the underlying feeling that we were a lower league team doing a job on a premier league team, we're on the right track with RK in there but we need more quality in the side, simple as, cleverly and Kone shouldn't have been anywhere near our first team today or any other day from now on.....

Early on we were in the game we conceded some possession but still created chances and weren't pinned back. That ended as we tired and when we as you said brought on Kone and lost the threat up top

Well that was a breathe of fresh air, considering all of the panicking and arguing on here for the past couple of weeks. I thought we were excellent first half, knackered but resolute in the 2nd half Steklenberg who's apparently awful kept us in it with 2 superb saves. Our shape was good our pressing was excellent, and a threat every time we went forwards, Ross looked the fittest he's been for a couple of years, and to coin a cliché Mirrallas and Gerry were like new players.

I know more than you about keeping and if you think his positioning in goal for that cross was ok then your wrong he is so close to that left post he may as well be hugging it

Talk to Holgate and Baines and ask them who let themselves down on that goal Potato.

i'm not blaming stek for the goal in fact he made 2 very good saves.

I'm making a counter argument for the people who say that there wasn't anything that the keeper cold have done about spurs goal which is actually incorrect. that was my argument.

or is debate not allowed on here

But he was perfectly positioned when the cross was hit. He was protecting the near post. A near post cross was hit and Holgate was late to the party allowing Lamela to head the ball to the far corner. He would have only saved that by being out of position.

I think we have never scored a goal against a recognised goalkeeper substitute at Goodison.

Yes, we've scored when the keeper has been replaced (sending-off, injury) by an outfield player. I think we put 6 past Sunderland or Stoke or someone in the late 60s after this happened but strangely on something like 10 occasions this has happened we've failed to score. Weird.

Equally strange was MOTD seemed to take place at one end of the pitch!!
