Transfer Rumour Lamine Kone

The promise of a new contract after the deadline date isn't worth the paper it's not written on.
Agreed. Probably just a tactic to get us to pay a little more for him now. I still think he'll be an Everton player by the end of the window, but going to be interesting to see how it plays out.

Oh great another straight forward transfer for EFC....

How come no other clubs seem to be encountering as many problems with all of their apparent targets?

Pogba took United six weeks to complete.

Chelsea have supposedly wanted Rom all summer but haven't made a bid.

Sakho's move from WHam to WBA fell through at the last minute

City took ages to sign Stones

Palace with Benteke...

It isn't just us mate

Moyes has played this Superbly.
Let his best player speak to us, then said we've not bid enough, thereby alienating said player who puts in a request. Moyes then fines him, and says he's staying
Bravo sir, the Mackems must be purring with awe at his majesty

Is that why he is after signing Phil Jones as a spare?????
KONE will go even if we don't sign him some other club will!

honestly I think this is still on, look at it from his pov

yerh he'll get offered a new contract in September, but how good it will be remains to be seen
not only that but sunderland are running a debt of about 140m so they'll be tempted to cash in, plus wont be too keen on too good of a deal

This. I think Sunderland want to keep him but don't want to pay him what he wants. If he stayed until Sept 1, they would almost definitely offer him a lowball contract just to say they kept their word. If they were actually willing to pay him the wages he wants, there's really no reason not to offer it right now.

The difference is those teams did a majority of their business early and waited on their "premier" or tough to sign players because they had to.

Chelsea signed Konte and Batshuayi early and are ready for the start of the season

City brought in Gundogan Nolito Sane and shored up their team ready for the start of the season

United brought in Zlatan & Mkadfasdfjasdfjasdfa whatever his name is and are ready for the start of the season

The RS did their business early and their players are ready for the start of the season

These team identified holes early and took care of them. We supposedly are doing an entire overhaul of the team and only signed Stek and Gueye early enough to be ready for the start of the season. That means we are going to "overhaul" the team in the midst of trying to secure points. This is bad business and I'm not saying run around like the sky is falling, but the club is not immune to criticism and to say they have handled this transfer window well is a bold faced lie.
