Transfer Rumour Lamine Kone

.....Coleman bought for £60k and now worth £20m+, I think record in the transfer market is always a good way to judge a manager and RM certainly blotted his with Niasse.
Damn right. Moyes' biggest flop was Kroldrup right? Made what, like a 5m loss on him? If only we could make a 5m loss on Niasse, everybody would be delighted! Moyes was, overall, excellent in the transfer market, which is why I think he'll turn Sunderland into easily a mid-table Premiership side within a few years. Hope Ronny K is just as good when he dips his feet into the market again.

I'm certain whenever people hand in transfer requests, if they aren't very obviously unhappy at the club they're at, they will be guaranteed a signing on bonus to cover any losses of loyalty payouts.

I very much doubt it....fine lines mate. If we had got Leno, Koulibaly and Carvalho then we would look very solid in the spine but instead weve got Gueye and Stek so far who arent top players...just cheap squad fillers.

Hes said he wants 3 or 4 more players, so lets say its Kone, Bolasie + a keeper and one other....

Not impressed.
.
That is your opinion and of course you are entitled to it.

However, I think it is an opinion typical of fans who just want to sign big names, expensive players and preferably from abroad. Exotic names are a bonus too.

In the last couple of weeks we have begun to see what the managers thoughts on the players already at the club are and we are just beginning to see his vision going forward.
Some players that he will sign be for the shorter term as they can come in and immediately sort out a problem he has identified, others will be for the longer term.
Maybe we should take a step back in our judgements before saying things which are not fully considered , at the very very least the actual end of the window.

Diniyar Bilyaletdinov? Bought for £10m sold for less than £5m (I think?) and Yakubu bought for £11m and sold for £1m. Other than that he was tip top.

How many games has he played in this league?

How many have you seen him play?

Handing in a transfer request 2 days before the season starts, with a statement released. Coincides with a bid from another club who'd pay him more.

If he was an Everton player...

Brothers family he married into are S'land season ticket holders mate, they rate him massively (only seen the lad play 3-4 times myself), they are even at 18m absolutely gutted that he will leave, game i saw him in though yeah he's a bloody unit and a half and in limited watching looks bloody good

If he was an Everton player - we'd probably make him cry at a service station, then generally get right behind the lad hoping he'd have qa change of heart, and maybe even make up a song about him if he did stay mate based on a popular Beatles ditty.

Or Maybe generally give him a good reception like we do with fellaini who also handed in a request on deadline day - so even later
Or maybe we'd look at our boards past history of convincing players they wanted to sell to hand in a request so it reflects better on them and worse on the player?

Yep, He was a colossus for Sunderland and a big part of them staying up.
Sunderland where showing top 6 form towards the back end of the season and they where still full of rank average footballers responsible for the 6-2 hiding they took at Goodison.

He does appear to be a bit of a merc, but then 90% are these days, some are just less public.

I really wanted Koulibaly but if you look at the stats he has only really shone in the last 12 months, and there is no guarantee that he would settle in England. Kone has played under a strong defensive manager in England already and has the opportunity to work with one of the best in Koeman. I hope this comes off.

Cant force these players to come Zat, we had a pop and they jogged us rar on, we have no idea who Ronny has got lined up in goal, the jungle drums sadly keep beating the name Begovic, im not totally against him, but, meh.

In respect of the Koubs and Carvs they are actually still laughing I think.

Its about who we can get in at this stage, to bulk the squad, to add height, to add something different.

I aint gonna pretend im buzzing at our business so far, far from it, but ive gotta keep the faith for 3 more weeks, lets hope for some rabbits.

If we get Kone in on top of Williams then got to say i'm happy enough with the defence going into the season mate, Stones was always looking likely to go, to replace him with someone who is a natural leader and vocal (and ain't a half bad cb as well) and a bloody big unit who knows how to defend and will actually win a header and not be a bit of a fanny in Kone, then yeah overall that part of the team looks fine. Get a solid keeper in and someone who can provide a bit of cover across the back and we'd look very very solid at the back (although doubt we will get either in)

rest of the team still needs a lot of fresh blood into it though

Part of me wants Kone to join after tomorrows game just so that he can enjoy outmuscling Stones again, and bagging a brace.
Then he can sign for us :)

I doubt he will play now though.

Aye they credit him with staying up - well him and defoe to be fair.

Show me a footy player that isn't a merc these days...

Same mate - but in all honesty Kone is a certain sure thing IMO, Koulibaly - yeah i do think he would be brilliant in this league, but for half the price and less risk on adapting to the league, can't say i'm devastated with us swaitching to get him now rather than waste another 3 weeks chasing a player who just looks out of our reach. Looking at our defence with Coleman, Baines, Williams, Kone, Jagielka, Funes-Mori, Holgate, Kenny - then it looks a great blend going into the season (add Blind for cover at lb/cb then i'd be bouncing about it)

Zat, you're talking utter plop lad. You have noise how Koulibaly and Carvalho would adapt to this league, you're going off the odd game you watched them and a couple of YouTube clips.

If kone and gueye had come from a European team with a £20m+ process rage you'd be over the moon and telling everyone how great they are.

Kone massively impressed me when we played them up there, he dominated our forward line and bullied them to hell

Bolasie, I'm not a fan but if he plays how koeman wants him to them I'm hoping to be shocked and getting vaulted to hell on here.
