Transfer Rumour Lamine Kone

I don't know what the problem is, it's not as if we would have rung him and his agent and said "We'll give you £80k a week" they then said "Great we'll take it, and come and see you" then they have got to Liverpool and said "By the way, we want a £100k"

They would have come to Liverpool to discuss contract terms with us, we would have put our offer on the table in regards to wages, what we have offered, and what he wanted, was obviously way apart , we weren't prepared to pay what he wanted, so he got off.

Or, as @KUEFC09U2 said, he's gone back to Sunderland and said, this is what Everton have offered, can you better it.
I disagree. I don't think it is common to invite players to the training ground unless you think it's all done

For him to have been formally at Finch Farm - on a training day for Sunderland, then he must have been given permission to do so by his club.

Which means a deal in principle must have been agreed, otherwise we're guilty of tapping up, and there's been no suggestion of it.

The fact Moyes has jumped straight into the market suggests that this will complete as soon as the lad's replacements are in place and terms agreed.

As @KUEFC09U2 said, maybe he has been happy with the contract we offered, and has now gone back to Sunderland with his agent, and said "This is what Everton have offered, if you want me to stay, can you better it?" supposedly Kone has said he is happy at Sunderland.

For what it's worth, I think he'll sign for us.

Pretty sure the Swansea fans love Williams and given, his stats in the prem last year and previous (yes, I know stats don't mean everything), they'd be right to do so, just like I like Jags.
If you say what you've seen of this Kone guy makes you think he's the real deal then great, it's worth the trade then, in your opinion.
I haven't seen that much of him to warrant throwing Jags away but, that's just me not watching out for him.
I have my preferences but, then you get accused of not watching Italian footie and stuff, so not worth going into it.
The management team is there and should be given a full reign on purchases atm and we should just trust them!?!
No if sentiment of not selling a 33 year old captain - Look I like Jags a lot , but I realise he is on a down hill we have had ten years service there are youngsters in the squad who one day will be as good as he was if asked for him in a part exchange deal and Koeman wants this alleged beast of a centre half then it's a no brainer- I have seen better players sold in their prime never mind Jags!

A

s far as Sland are concerned he's out the door or they wouldn't have let him come to FF. The only reason therefore for agent to stall is cos there is a better deal being sorted out

we'll see mate.

Think Chelsea's interest may even be because they want to pressure Koulibaly (?), while his agent has also been after the better deal that they had agreed in principle with Sunderland when he signed.

Wait and see on it I suppose.

Don't think (if it happens) it will be done very quickly.

I can see a flurry of activity from us (relatively speaking) in the next week - two or possibly three in.

I imagine we'll be doing the extra business late in the window though, and I think there'll also be a few sales included in that.
