If Bill was still in charge we would be going into pure meltdown now at the lack of signings and talking about Blue Union meetings in the Casa!
Really just wnt us to have everything done before the season starts, if we aspire to be top 6 we have to get off to a good result against Spurs, one of the sides who even this early on you can say will be there and there abouts, right where we want to be.
Hard to say its a six pointer so early but at the same time if we lose that we are chasing them from game one, thats why I want everything we are doing done quick.

That's similar to Damo so it's obvious he knows everything.

Definitely NOT from TEF. He lasted all of 48 hours there before getting a swarm of abuse and a ban. Even his multi was banned within a day after.

These are the types of gambles we brought him for. Not every signing is going to be a 20M+ world beater.

We have Barry, Besic, Cleverly, Davies, McCarthy, Gibson, and we supposed to be after Witsel, Carvalho, and Now this guy. C'mon, i think were covered in the mid.

Older and if possible slower.
Injury prone but with fitness coach worth at least another year.
Good cover on left for when Pienaar and Mirallas were never 'available', but not a cm.
Young, could be something but lets not hang all hopes on someone who needs gradually bringing into the team.
Umm, not sure....either tried covering too much for ageing partner or wasn't able to play normal game.
Injured, that's it.

So, imo if Walsh, our new DoF/scout thinks he's capable, then we do actually need the numbers, as a few of them might go.

I live in Manchester and work with a load of United fans. "We're taking your best player off you (Mata)" I'd incessantly goad them. Now we're getting linked with Gueuye, Kone and Arnautovic. What a time to be alive.

Why would you goad them when they have won a lot more trophies than us? Wait until we've won stuff again before you do that!

Thing is tho when?. This Gueye has literaly come from knowhere, and i expext it will probably wrapped up in no time. Yet Witsel, Carvalho, Mata, and that Napoli defender has been going on for weeks now. If it was going to happen then it would have already.

It seems like a Walsh signing, he will have studied this player for a while. Is it a week after he became our DoF? We met a release clause and so, yes it might happen quickly. Larger fee transfers take a lot longer, as invariably you are talking about a 'perceived' better player, therefore, image rights and that sort of nonsense comes into play.

The whole point of bringing in a DoF..... was to find these little gems (that play for the team) even as squad players....... if they have the hunger and buy in to the ethic... that's fine with me. Everyone of them should be champing at the bit....... and I think we will see that with all our signings. They will buy in to what we are trying to do....... unlike a lot of posters on here.

Exactly. Never spend more if it's not necessary. If Walsh and the team are convinced by him, then give him a shot. Especially since it's a relatively cheap fee.
