Expecting 2/3 big signings this week, everything is in place now and going off people ITK we've agreed fees/contracts with people already. No excuses this week Everton.

Few people shot me down about worrying but we are less than 3 weeks away from playing Spurs, who were in every way a far superior team to us last season, they have strengthen and we haven't, so yeah am a tad worried.

we've strengthened in the best way possible mate by getting a quality manager in...

Can't wait for the Stones money to come in then we can spend.

Moshiri has had you all off, the great pretender.

I am praying you are wrong mate. I thought we are going to FM mode...

I will begin to lose faith if we don't spend huge before the Spurs game. Maybe I am naive here but I expect the club spending £50m on top of the Stones fee.

We need new blood but if we start vs Spurs with the squad as it is now (we won't) I won't be worried to be perfectly honest. We're decent we just need to remember it.

Good point

We have a strong starting XI

Our issue is squad depth, which we can sort any point in the window

Hmmm.

well, the caveat is Mikey that our 'starting XI' is really full of players that should be squad players now...

I'd be thrilled if we made five top quality (realistic) signings this summer. GK, CB (presuming Stones is off), CM, AM, ST (back-up for Rom, Tarashaj I think will be a good third choice).

It appears that we may well be aiming for two CM's, which indicates one of the current crop of midfielders (if not two) may be moved on as well.

The key this window is improving the starting XI, imo, with positions such as a commanding centre half and quality goalkeeper, as well as putting some physicality in midfield and a bit of guile with a playmaker who can take some of the onus off Ross.

We don't particularly need more squad players...

My major concern is that we don't sign any of our targets this summer. It is all well and good saying we are after x or close to y or whatever but what if none of them sign?

just a theory but with walsh coming in and any existing deals falling through that we will reset the search so to speak and this is what is taking so long to even negotiate with them. Walsh has no idea what we need right now, only koeman and even then he will be buying players rather than team members for the time being.

So for all this excitment 3-4 weeks ago that we may be signing these top players, perhaps we will end up just signing lower level players, long term recruitments and the immediate burst of quality that we need will not come. Instead of witsel, some random midfielder to do a job, instead of koulababy we get ashley williams etc.
