Steve Walsh resigns - did not like the way LCFC handled

Why would he want to go to Everton? They've done nothing for 30 years.

Surely players across the world don't rememberer them being a big team. They can't still have a pull on name alone and surely city can match them for wages and transfer fees.

Surely anything Everton offer him in wages for himself City can.

The delusion of grandeur that some fans have! Great they broke the monopoly of the 'Big 4', an achievement which cannot be underestimated, but really.........!!!!!

I don't think there's much wrong with those comments, apart from 'rememberer' of course.

Maybe assuming City would go for Walsh is unrealistic but it just supports the overwhelming consensus among Leicester fans that Walsh is a very important component in their success. It's not often you see an entire fanbase openly gutted about the prospect of losing a head of recruitment/assistant manager, more, even, than losing some of their best players. Either there's something about this guy or they're all completely insane.

To be fair he speaks the truth though.

Think he is referring to Leicester when he mentions 'City'. Another Sky Sportsism was to make out their is only one 'United' and only one 'City'. Same way they say Real when talking about Madrid but Sociedad if talking about Real Sociedad. They just love to create these brands around their favourite clubs whereas there are loads of clubs up and down the country who would call themselves City or United. Guess it's why Everton is so good, none of that nonsense.

To be fair, Man City were known as City long before Sky Sports or their investment. It was City and United to everyone.

"Don't nothing for 30 years". This is a club that were playing in division 3 for years before. In the last 31 years we have won significantly more than they have, including Fa Cups, Leagues, and European Trophies.

To be fair lads I reckon, on reflection, he's probably talking about Leicester City in these comments.

Over the last 15 seasons, Leicester are actually one of the most successful clubs, one league, 2 league cups since 97. 3 more honours than us (5 if you include promotions form lower divisions). No one really cares about them still.

I was thinking the other day, take a look at AC Milan - one cup I think in 6 years ,no real house hold names in their team compared to 5 let alone 10 years ago. Juve look like dominating the league for some time, so they could easily go ten years without a title, and still everyone would know and respect them. If I wanted to play in Italy i'dgo to AC Milan because of their history, etc. Same to a degree with Ajax. When were they last a force in Europe? still they are relevant because of what they did in the 90s.

Our name does have pull in Europe still and it does matter. Go to Greece, spain, etc and say you support everton to the locals and they will be able to have a decent conversation with you about us. i guess being half of the most watched derby in the world helps keep our profile higher than it would otherwise be. Time to start writing a better current history that leaves people in no doubt why "you'd want to come to everton"
