ZAT - aghast that everyone's not hugely au fait with Bernie Leno the 2nd choice German goalie.

It is shocking though.

Is Leno a world beater (keeper)? No, not as far as anyone is aware.
Does he have experience in the Prem or in any kind of massive tournament to give us confidence he'd be amazing? No, he's been the starter for Leverkusen at age 24 though, well done to him.
Is he REALLY that famous Zat, outside the Bundesliga? No, he's really not, as much as you'd want him to be. In fact, many haven't heard of him.
So at best he'd be the German Fraser Forster. In fact I'd have him before Leno.

Also remember when you (I think? Other people as well, genuinely don't remember) said we should go for Mandanda as he'd be a great keeper to have? At age 31? Now at Palace. If he was this amazing enigma keeper then he'd surely be at a good team, no?

Also absolutely 0 signs we're going for a keeper right now, it's the leasts of our worries - Joel is a good keeper who we kept praising last season as our only saving grace in many games, but apparently that means nothing today as we're now mint and impatient and have lost nearly everything decent about us as a fanbase. Joel's backup/rotation is a WC finalist with a ton of games and a ton of experience in Prem and International football.

So yeah, I'm not arsed about the goalie position in the slightest. And don't really want to have a second string keeper just so we have 3, and don't really expect any movement on the goalie front unless we sell Joel RIGHT NOW.

What we need is a good striker, to sell some deadwood (Niasse, Kone, please just gtfo), a good midfielder/two, in my opinion we're short of right backs, as we only have Coleman tbh, and we already have a supposedly solid manager.

Anyone remember less than 6 months ago when we used to give our players a chance though? That seems like a long time away, NoW ThAt We'Re MiNteD LaDzZZz. Even then the majority were saying they'd be willing to give Joel a chance with a decent defense in front of him - manager we have now should fix that, so what exactly changed that much? It's not like Koeman's first season is expected to be a revelation and for us to win the title - it'll be to fix the damage from the previous 3 and finish in a respectable position, which, with our players and some additions, should be easily done, at least for top 6-7 or so.

I just got up tho mate, not gonna go back straight away, thanks for the advice.

No, i slated mandanda to high heaven.

If you search bernd leno on google you will see him linked to some of the best sides in the world.

if you search on here theres hundreds of posts on him id imagine and also links of him coming to us

hes very well known outside of germany.

Fair do's, I just know he was heavily linked tbh.

I know, but everyone is linked to everything, as it is silly season, let's not go overboard. I, too, know who he is, but 1) he's said he's not moving (even though that doesn't really mean much) and 2) "top teams" in this case means Tottingham, as they've got the strongest link with him. And he'll be second choice there. Not exactly a starter for Real Madrid that.

Known - yes, well known - Stekelenburg is probably better known.

I'd been banging on about him before Martinez was sacked. I was HOPING Leverkusen wouldn't make CL but they did. Watch quite a bit of them in the Bundesliga since Calhanaglou started making insane free kicks. And Im pretty sure that's not how you spell his name but I don't care.


Anyways, tangent, back to the circle. Leno is absolutely ace.
