I'm surprisingly "zen" about the whole thing in all honesty

Obviously, if we have a big fire sale of big stars and then don't replace them, I'll be going mad, but as of right now I'm very calm about the whole thing

To me, the minute Moshiri picked us up my first thought wasn't "We're going to sign loads of boss players and win everything" but rather "We're finally going to be able to keep our best players and actually build a strong team that can compete over time"

To just be able to be in a position where a Man City, Man United or Arsenal can't come in and take away our best player without paying way, WAY, beyond the odds would be a brilliant feeling. I'd honestly feel like we could do anything at that point. Just imagine where we'd be if all the players who left us had stayed and a manager could have actually built a team knowing he didn't have to sell players if he didn't want to?

So yeah, so long as Moshiri can give us that, I'm happy to be patient and wait for the good times to roll in

I don't need instant gratification. I've waited over two decades, what's a couple more years at this point?

Where the hell have you been the last few years? We've had the luxury you're referring to for ages... when was the last time we had to sell a player?

In fact the first summer in recent times where we have to sell someone may be this one... to be able to increase the wage structure. But players leave all clubs sometimes, it can't be helped. It doesn't bother me, if Stones leaves we'll replace and move on no problem.

The club needs to build momentum and credibility to sell the new project which IMHO is not registering with the players we are looking to bring into the club.

One statement player is not enough when you,re trying to sell a project as big as this to players.

Frankly we need shock and awe approach on the front end (player transactions etc) backed up by a high level business plan and vision which is communicated far and wide by the Moshiri himself (not left to others) in the public domain.

Haven't Southampton sold all their best players again and we doubled his wages. I think that may have been enough to tempt him.

Announcing new deals for Barkley and Lukaku would go a long way to allaying my fears.

I dont dispute the fact that the fact that he is getting paid a shedload will have motivated him to leave Southampton but I also dont think he would have come if we were offering him 6 mill a year but a limited transfer budget. As someone alluded to earlier Koeman was in the last year of his contract he could easily have sat it out and then got more wages next year than we are currently paying him. I think the man is a winner and thats what he has come here to do and he has moved because he has a better squad already than he had at Southampton and there is the promise of more to come.

They're all central midfielders, not getting into who plays just in front of the back four and who plays just ahead of him, but they still all play in the centre of midfield.

But my point is that if Koeman switches from witsel to carvalho it wouldnt make sense.
