To be fair it's only the youngsters he will need to run the rule over. He like any other manager about will know about all our 1st team players, he's played us 4 times to start with.

Nonsense. There's a big difference between seeing them play against you under a different manager's tactics and instructions compared to seeing them in training and play in your own style.

Even Kone, Niasse, McGeady etc will be given a chance to at least show 'something'.

The Premiership is strewn with failures of rich men buying out big clubs: Mike Ashley, for example. Why did he buy Newcastle? He probably thought he could make them a success.

Words don't guarantee success, actions do.
There's a lot of money to be made keeping a team in the premiership and aiming to make profit on player sales. Look at Southampton and I believe that was Ashley's business plan for Newcastle.

Under Kenwright we pumped all the money from player sales back into the team which kept us roughly around 6th or 7th.

Now with the TV money there's more ways of making money.

As much as the lack of signings is frustrating I also find it quite positive in that a new manager hasn't come in and spunked the lot on the first few players he can get his hands on. Tottenham and that lot did that with the Bale and Suarez money and it got them no were.

Spurs challenged for the title and finished 3rd...Champions League and all that.

the RS got to a final or two.

Ah right, a single point below Arsenal. So we'd still have been in with a shout of 4th on the last day rather than out of it with 3 games to go

In theory mate, although the way we died at the end of the season, you have to figure we'd have just gone a few games earlier - soon as the pressure went on or soon as teams figured us out - think we still would have been 6-7 points off Arsenal come the final tally

Mike Ashley, for example. Why did he buy Newcastle? He probably thought he could make them a success.

Mike Ashley? Such was his level of due diligence in buying Newcastle United in 2007 that he was not even aware that the Northern Rock sponsorship monies had all been received upfront, nor was he aware of the outstanding transfer balances on players acquired under the previous regime.

He bought the club on a whim, it represents less than 5% of his estimated net worth, and he's employed terrible business people to run it - it's not a comparable situation in my opinion.

I am honestly not worried that we havent signed anyone yet. Would I have liked to? Yes. Do I think that there are deals on the table? Yes. Do I think Everton would of attracted someone of the ilk of Koeman if there wasn't money to spend? No. Koeman isn't here just to pick up a fat paycheque. He wants to manage Barcelona and in order to get that job he has to perform here. There is no way he would have taken this job if he didn't think the tools were here to allow him to be successful i.e a boatload of cash to go out and buy players that he thinks will improve us.
Players will join and there will be players of a higher level than what we already have. Moshiri will know that the easiest way to increase the revenue streams for the club is to be visible and successful and in order to get us to that point he is going to have to throw a wedge at us. Once we sign one high profile player it is much easier to get the rest to follow suit. Players are like lemmings, they need someone to follow and once we have one in I imagine others will follow much more quickly. Fully expect Mata to play the first half of the rooneys testimonial for utd, sign his contract at half time and come out in royal blue second half and promptly score a worldie. Its too early to say we are back yet but I know we will be stronger this season than last and genuinely expect to be competing for a champions league place and at least finish the seaon in a European slot.

Are the posts with regards to us "not having money" or "we are just the same old everton" just wind ups and sarcastic or is this generally peoples opinion?

I believe we're better off with Moshiri but all these stories about a 100 mil budget are beginning to sound really ridiculus considering we look absolutely flaccid in the transfer market.

Or maybe Koeman knows that Joel is a very decent keeper and plans to use him as a number one? With the guidance of a WC finalist, in Stekelemburg, maybe Joel will be even better? Remember how he, at times, kept the results as "good" (read "not as humiliating") for us as possible? Yeah, he had the odd dodgy moment, but so does every keeper, it's a tough position.

With a good defense in front of him Joel can perform very well. I know you wanted us to sign imaginary world beaters from teams you've apparently scouted, but realistically was that going to happen?

If we supposedly have such lofty ambitions then yes, it should have been the first early signing made already.
