Stones tells Everton he wants Man City transfer

After having to endure useless Martinez and his clueless coaching assistants, Stones' decision re-opting out of Everton was always highly probable.
Having said that, the boost to non-broadcast revenue is a more than satisfactory corollary to that decision.

No way he stays now, unfortunate but inevitable.

If we actually get 50m for him then fair enough.

Going to be one of the best centrebacks in the world, just a shame it won't be with us.

As for people who claim he will be easy to replace for a fraction of the cost, just take a look at the two managers who have tried to sign him and then look in the mirror and ask yourself if you think you know more than Pep and Jose??

Think you will find the answer is no.
I'm sure he will be a great player in the future but last season he was far from great. And those performances won't be too hard to replace.

Exciting player but yet to see him put in a performance that suggests to me he will be a world class defender. He has big issues with his positional sense and really doesn't deal with crosses very well at all. For me he should be a midfielder.

Long time lurker, first time poster.

Honestly to the people claiming this is a good thing and he was never very good anyways who are u trying to fool? No doubt in my mind that he'll be one of the world's best in years to come and should almost certainly be a favourite for England and most likely City captaincy in the future.

If word is to be believed though we needed to make a big sale this summer for our wage structure to be improved so this seems to be a necessary step backwards to go forwards in the future.

Ultimately his current quality is replaceable although not as cheap as some seem to think but it is his potential ability that we won't be able to replace in my eyes.

I wish him no ill will because honestly who can blame him for wanting to play under the world's best manager for one of England's current best clubs and make millions doing it.

Look at it this way if u had the choice of losing either him or Rom at the start of the summer it'd be him for most because Rom is truly irreplaceable whereas Stones can be replaced currently.

I'm unhappy to see any ace young player leave but if the money is right for us and he wants to go, fair enough.

Best of luck, hope he doesn't become another wasted young talent!
