Stones tells Everton he wants Man City transfer

He had a bad run of games playing for a team out of form and not drilled properly. A young man who before that had performed superbly for two seasons. I'm surprised it took so long for him to have a bad patch.
Gone to his head - and while he is and does have great potential it's not realised and won't be unless his attitude changes. Now we can blame the previous regime but the best defenders have the basics already there and stones fundamentally is not an agressive defender - which is needed for this league.

We're going to break British records with a fee for a defender with two seasons worth of games underneath his belt. Make no mistake, I will be sad to see him go as I believe he is the real deal but his departure will allow us to meet the financial regulations made clear by @The Esk, and in turn will allow us to build the squad Koeman needs to get us back into Europe and amongst the silverware this season. It should be of note that it is far easier to build a solid defence than to find a 20 goal a season striker, and given one has to go, I'd much rather Stones went. Won't get any boos from me.

A sacrifice we'll have to make. Rather him than Lukaku.

Spot on.

Would only sell for £50 million if we can negotiate a sell on clause aswell. If not get £60 million considering Napoli and probably Southampton will want around £40-45 million for Koulibaly/VVD.

Wouldn't wish him any injury mate..

I'd wish an on fire Lukaku to rag him everywhere at Goodison and him getting dragged off to a chorus on cheers however.

I didn't mean to sound overly malicious and wish him injury mate, I meant I just want to see him treated as an enemy, like every opposition player should be.

Going to be one of the best centrebacks in the world, just a shame it won't be with us.

As for people who claim he will be easy to replace for a fraction of the cost, just take a look at the two managers who have tried to sign him and then look in the mirror and ask yourself if you think you know more than Pep and Jose??

Think you will find the answer is no.

Depends on what type of centre-half you are trying to replace him with? A like for like footballer, or a brick sh*t house 6ft 5 man mountain who will stick his head on every cross going and row Z's everything else. It is arguable that Everton at the moment are more in need of the latter?

Will be sad to see him go. Clearly got the potential to be a world class defender.

That said, look forward to seeing who we bring in - £50m will come in pretty handy like...

Now you are just making stuff up.

Was expected. Will be important to our wage bill growth.

Love Stones. He will be utterly brilliant, and I hope things go well for him (though not too well). But one player is less important than our ability to rebuild our team with better players.

Sacrifice a piece to win the game.
