I read on some transfer valuation website he's valued about £25m. That sounds about right to me.

He's a couple of years older than when he went to UTD and his form has dipped some. Moyes was desperate for players as well and Chelsea knew it. At 28 years old he wouldn't have a great deal of re-sale value so no more than £25m for me.
 

Just because someone can't make the National team means nothing really, Gibson couldn't make Ireland's and we've given him a new deal. Baines couldn't make England's but no doubt he will probably be first choice next season.
I would take Mata all day if the price is right, He is the nearest to a playmaker we have. I actually wouldn't mind seeing Deulofeu have a go in pre-season at playing in that role. When we signed him and there was youtube video's galore, i don't remember him being on the wing too often, he seemed to be through the middle or in the channel a lot, whereas he always seems to be right down the wing to the by line with us.
 
For his bicey kick 2 years ago at the pit alone, I want him. Same game that slippy got sent off as well, boss.

He's absolutely class and has had years in this league so it is an easy yes from me.
 
Mata as a no10 is ideal for us and think it would be a great signing at the right price. Rom would thrive on his through balls & vision. Amount of runs that Rom makes (so called lazy player!) that don't get seen by our current squad would play to his strengths.
need competition for places and would do Barkley the world of good and may even get him to up his game to get into the team further back.
No brainer for me

Through balls are like kopite tears to me, and I get to see about 3 a season on average. Mata would increase that 10 fold and I want him playing behind the striker. Play Ross further back.

A)what about Barkley, would ruin him if you change his position?
B)is this just a wishful thinking or are there actual rumors about this?
 

We would still have a keeper, 4 defenders and a defensive Midfielder behind them to be fair. Just 1 DM instead of 2 like he played at times.
Its only Martinez who made us believe that it was necessary to play 7 defensive players to make an attacking team. I never bought into 2 DM's.
