I thought daves 1st post was a valid question and can't believe how defensive we get on here?

as a season ticket holder i hate our football under moyes and do think it is his tactics to lob the ball up and hope for a free kick, throw in etc.
We do have the players to play good football as we did for 25mins against Birmingham.
The majority of our goals come from set pieces or individual skill, not flowing football.
If moyes hasn't got the ability to change our play he needs to bring in help who can, if not evertonians will get sick of paying alot of money and gates will drop. ( i am surprised the fans have been so patient).
The excuse of an inherited team has long gone.

all good points my friend.

Daves questions were only semi valid though, i answered them fairly factually. sorry if he was hoping for anymore.

One slightly concerning thing is why he would join an Everton forum to ask that.

Only time i'd join another clubs forum is if they had information about our club that I needed to extract.

It is obvious the way the team move up as a unit when howard gets the ball that it is a training ground tactic, also this horrible shitty little chip to the edge of the opposition box must be workrd on in training.

These are the team tactis and are not premier league tactics.
the only time we play good football is when the ball drops to one of our midfielders (this is rare) and their natural flare takes over.
Why not play through the midfield!!!

In my opinion tactically the coaching staff are not good enough including moyes. He needs help but doesn't seem to see this:(

your right, we don't push it thru midfield enough. rodders, pienaar, Bily, Fellaini are all good enough to play some good stuff but yet we insist on pushing our left back/ right back down the wings leaving them exposed and running 50yards back chasing the ball....wings are good but shouldn't be our only plan...!(n)

What confuses me is that moyes has bought some excellent footballers into our team, but then bypasses them with hoofball.
he has the wrong players for his style of football. but he bought them?

strikers:
Saha
Yak
Jo
All good with the ball at their feet, what do we do? lump it high and expose their weakness.

Midfield:
pienaar
rodwell
fellaini
Billy
osman
arteta
All technically superb with the ball at their feet and have good movement. what do we do? hit the ball about 20ft over their heads and hope the second ball gets to them.

As said before we are playing to all our players weaknesses instead of their strengths, thats why certain players go missing.

It doesn't take a genius to work this out, so why can't moyes?

Fellaini and Osman aren't technically superb.

But I agree with your point, we have some smashing little footballers but we only too rarely play pretty football. The thing is, when we do, it's usually very successful, and provides us with goals. That 3-3 at Villa Park last season was one of the most enjoyable Everton game I've seen in recent memory - the players opened up, played with confidence and although on that occasion we didn't win it was a fantastic game to watch with excellent football being played.

Osman is, easily one of the most gifted English footballers around. He just has a severe lack of pace and strength.

Fellaini is neat and tidy, a decent footballer.

You serious?

He's a decent player who looks tidy on the ball and when he's playing well, has a good turn and close control. I wouldn't call that "technically superb", or contribute to being one of the most gifted English footballers around.

I really couldn't describe him as superb as much as I'd want to. I like how he creates space for himself and usually has a good touch, but superb?

Each to their own.

Technically he is superb but its lacking in some other attributes needed to be a top player.

He's got a great touch, good vision, excellent close touch and quick movement of the ball and a very decent shot. Physics go against him a bit unfortunately.

I'd love to get you some clips of what he can do with the ball, mate. Especially when he's in the middle of the park.

He doesn't have amazing vision in terms of passing but in terms of close control, dribbling ability and touch he's right up there. You see it in the middle, outwide he just gets cornered and canceled out.

Sadly, he has no physical attributes whatsoever. And I did say one of the more technically gifted 'English players', and lets be honest, we don't have have an abundance of technically gifted players.

Joe Cole said he was the best player in his age group before had some major injury problems, there was a reason for that. Even Howard said he's got the best feet at the club, and that's even alongside the likes of Arteta and Pienaar.
