How Eerily similar Lescott/Man City 2009 is to Koeman/Everton in 2016.

There are similarities, but let's not compare ourselves to Man City.

Their takeover was of an earth-shattering sort that has allowed them to win league titles, compete in the latter stages of the Champions League and attract arguably the current best club coach in the world.

Our developments are great but in the overall scale of things its relatively modest (unless I'm missing something) and allows us to get our house in order and a stadium built.

It shouldn't be difficult for us to improve on and off the pitch. I'm excited with the changes but a lot of hard work is needed and I still think we need additional investment to sustain any progress we might make in the next 2-3 years.

That's the intriguing part for me - who else might come in and what they would bring to the club.

The biggest parallel I see with City is that Shinawatra bought them out and sold up a few years later. If Moshiri does the same or attracts additional wealth, we might consider ourselves back at the top table then.

Dont need most cash to get back to the top. Just enough to compete with the right manager. It appears we have sufficient cash....here's hoping.

The money position can also change with some sustained success. The Sky Four will not always be. Everything changes at some point. I still can't take Chelsea seriously and they will be gone again before I ever do. When we win it again they will all be quoting most top flight football ever. One of the biggest clubs in history...blah blah. Just need the PR team to feed it to the lazy journos. They will all be onside with better press room lunches and a hefty signing or two.

He's not doing it on his own though . There are richer people than him involved

Quite different really. We didn't want to let Lescott go and he forced it with a shocking performance. Southampton agreed to let him go after he performed beyond their expectations and were happy with their compensation.

I have a gut feeling that in the next couple of years Moshiri will bring in his friend and business buddy Usmanov from Arsenal and he DOES have a lot of money! Then we will hopefully step all over clubs to get where we want and in a short space of time too.

I am optimistic and have a gut feeling that we will do something very similar to what Man City did and within half a dozen years we will be challenging at the top of the league and in the cups on a regular basis.
And before anybody asks - I haven't been drinking or doing crack! Nor am I mental. I just have a feeling. A good feeling.
