1) Yes without doubt
2) I agree but this is was suggested on the premise that Usmanov wanted to divest of Arsenal and invest in Everton at the same time as Moshiri did. That being the case it would make more sense to release Usmanov fron his position at Arsenal than Moshiri.
3) Again I agree, but at least the greater force (Usmanov) would have been released to do his good at Everton.

This is why (aside from the suspect legality of such) I don't believe it was Usmanov's intent to join Everton at a later date. I'm still not convinced of his desire to do so now, nor how he would achieve it if he wished to do so.

Thanks mate. I think 1 covers point 2 & 3 and would have made more sense. What I do agree with you on, is that if he wanted to buy Everton now he could have done so 3 months ago and there would need to be a dramatic change in circumstances.

I have popped something in the blueblue thread. In essence I do think there's a little more going on but I am not sure what. I think we have far greater resources and backing than would initially be anticipated when you look at very cautious estimates of his personal wealth.

I am leaning on that to be honest mate as well - when Moshiri bought us i was made up, confident that we have someone backing us to push on. It seems bigger then just him though, thats not to belittle the man at all because he probably carry more money in his pocket a lot of us will ever see.

It seems like someone else is in on this with him and everything everyone is saying is pointing to that. Wonder if these time frames people are saying about announcement around Christmas time are right.

At the same time we shouldn't forget the lessons of Leicester.

Leicester proved that there can be a different model of success.

Making a statement, bringing in big names at big wages, isn't the be all and end all. We've got to bring in the right players, regardless of price and profile, who can be moulded into a team which brings the best out of each other.
Watch what happens to Leicester next year. That was a fluke and an outlier and by no means a recipe for success.

Regardless of whether you think Koeman is the right man for the job, the fact that Moshiri knew who he wanted and stuck to his guns no matter what it took, is what really excites me.

It's such a refreshing change from the years under Kenwright.
Don't get me wrong, I like Bill. He's a blue after all and seems like a nice bloke. But sadly that alone will only get you so far.

For so long we have needed not just investment, but someone guiding the ship with a vision and the business acumen/balls of steel to make it happen.

Still early days, but if the ruthless pursuit of Koeman and his (hopefully) imminent signing is a pre-cursor to how he'll take on other areas of the clubs management, then I for one am very, very excited!

COYB! :D

With the ideas that are being bandied about and the planning for the future, this is very likely. The identity will be intriguing when discovered.

God Almighty this would be absolutely massive. If the only club we can't match financially is City who are effectively backed by a sovereign nation state I would be delirious with excitement.

It should be a very exiciting period, the next few years, to say the least. Lots of things going on in the background and being done for the clubs benefit it would seem.

Our neighbours wil be over joyed, I think not.

They're still in denial over there.

First of all it would be Moyes or O'Neill cause we'd never attract Koeman, he just wouldn't entertain us.

Now Koemans not that good anyway, we're all gutted it wasn't Mourinho or Emery despite Koeman always being Moshri's first choice as Esk often posted.

Now they're owners are richer than ours and ours couldn't even afford to own the club. Completely ignoring ours has charges confirming future buying of the remaining shares.

Then there's the stadium, the stadium we can't afford to produce despite the mayor, who happens to be an Evertonian, saying we can. This is the same mayor who very quickly asked questions of the club and hung them out to dry saying they could afford it previously but has now dramatically changed his tune following meetings with the new regime. We still can't afford it tho, according to them anyway.

Now it's 100 million is nothing although 100 million is the lowest figure I've read us having to spend and get the feeling it could be even more. Let's be honest no ones going to declare there hand to any sellers just yet.

Oh yes, were still being laughed at for not being in Europe (the irony), finishing mid table (the irony again) and allegedly have a manager now who if he does well could get 7-10th (despite just bettering that twice with a weaker Southampton squad).

They're still in denial....not taking it well.

They're in for a rude awakening then, they had a meltdown over us mearly saying we wanted a stadium on the waterfront, it won't take much to send them over the edge.
