Can't argue with you Esk and the likelihood is Usmanov won't come here and we'll continue under Moshiri, which is still such an improvement on Kenwright.

A Philip Green character perhaps
But, a person like Usmanov must have hundreds of contacts in business, isn't it possible one of them (or one of them knows someone) who is interested in Usmanov's shares?

Don't want to make this thread into another similar debate, it's just a question I thought of.

Could the other Russia fella at Arsenal be a option to come on board?

Which Russian is that mate?

Whilst I would agree, as a multi billionaire, dropping a few millions to make a point may just appeal to Usmanov. Discuss

There are some positions that are difficult to get rid of at any price - to me the lack of influence you'd have as the buyer and the fact you are releasing a competitor from a totally bound position are two very good reasons not to buy.

Any truth behind the new board member this summer mate?

Gilvary and Dein? Yes, totally.

Wow excellent

I'd like to stress that Usmanov would face real obstacles in disposing of his Arsenal shares, he can't expect favours off Kroenke and finding a buyer for a significant minority interest that carries no control or influence is extremely difficult.

I'm sure he could ofload them to one of his cronies

.

On the other hand, it is possible that Usmanov COULD find a tame buyer from his homeland and dump his Arsenal shares there.

lol Messi levels of investment.

I cannot cope with this forum sometimes.

If we were in that league we would be getting linked with Laporte and Varane to partner Stones not Scott Dann ffs.

Behave yourselves, you're making a show of us.

We were being linked with Martin O'Neill when Martinez left

I agree completely, so why are people making blues look like absolute weapons by chatting if we wanted Messi we'd go and get him.

Look at how City started when they got money, buying players two levels above what they had, the werent goi round buying Aguero and Silva level talent straight away.
To be fair, the lad on TEF that said we could buy messi if we wanted followed it with "not that he would join us".

I agree though, all seems a bit far fetched.

Interesting as WRD, who posted the Usmanov definitely coming stuff, also knew about Gilvary months ago. He 100% gets good info that lad - obviously I know that even good info doesn't always come to fruition and you could well be right on the Usmanov stuff - but I think there's definitely a chance.
Who's Gilvary, I don't know anything about him?

Fella in the pub reckons we will lose our soul, with all the money at our disposal,I said do you mind if we give it a try like.

At the same time we shouldn't forget the lessons of Leicester.

Leicester proved that there can be a different model of success.

Making a statement, bringing in big names at big wages, isn't the be all and end all. We've got to bring in the right players, regardless of price and profile, who can be moulded into a team which brings the best out of each other.
