The EU deal

If anything the way this whole campaign on both sides has been played out should unite the majority in recognising that it is the interests of the detached upper echelons that are being served. We are being 'played' as a community. divisive issues that really should be non issues are pushed to the fore and the real problems with societies, and seriously, the way the whole world is governed, should be under scrutiny.

Just about the most sensible thing anyone has said on this thread.

It's the War of the Roses for our times.

Not sure how much we can trust them after the general election. But here's hoping.

Also, BUILD THE WALL! Keep Scot cucks out. ;) Make Britain great again.

Yes but the bookies have had a big spurge on the out betting Dodgy Dave maybe people see the is a way of ridding him and Gideon out of their jobs!

You make that remark about Putin yet note he's the only leader his people are actually happy with.

That blood was shed so Britain wouldn't become part of a super state run by Germany. You really shouldn't be bringing the war into the discussion.

I think Britain entered the war (better late than never) so that people could remain free from discrimination. These are noble values that we should not throw away lightly, not least at a time when so many in Europe want to do just that.

"How horrible, fantastic, incredible it is that we should be digging trenches and trying on gas-masks here because of a quarrel in a far away country between people of whom we know nothing. It seems still more impossible that a quarrel which has already been settled in principle should be the subject of war."

Chamberlain was wrong to wash his hands in ignorance in 1938, and we are wrong to wash our hands in ignorance now.

Prejudice is perceived notions not based on evidence of any reasoned thinking. I think we have given plenty of reasons to back up our arguments and offered evidence to support them.

So you think Le Pen, Trump and their ilk are sound of mind?

I think they all share similar mindsets.

And Nigel Farage, and the rest of the MEP's. They'll be losing their jobs.

I don't care if voting out destroys UKIP. Country before party.
Yes like them or loathe them they are Turkeys voting for Chistmas pity Dodgy Dave never had the same principles as he got the Tory leadership on being a Euro sceptic!

I think they are all opportunists in the way Bush and Blair were/are.

They are a political product of the times, they work to the same methods, using the same tactics to garner support from people who are easily swayed by fear and will find comfort in the process of scapegoating and the consequential xenophobia.

What a load of rubbish. If you are talking about the Holocaust. Jewish groups still complain Britain and the rest of the European people didn't do enough yet now you are saying that they went to war, a war which cost them their empire. Personally I would tend to agree with the Jewish groups.

Britain went to war to stop Germany from conquering the whole of Europe. It was a strategic decision. Nothing more.

I think Bruce may have been referring to the Sudeten issue in 1938........
