It's either that (which would be great!) or alternatively he feels if Emery goes he needs to make a stand. Getting them both together would be a real coup.

Is there anything, at all, to corroborate this speculation about the pair of them heading our way or is it just pure conjecture based on the fact that Monchi has resigned?

He could´ve resigned because he´s just been diagnosed with colon cancer for all we know. Could be a million reasons, many of which seem likelier than him having been convinced take on a DOF role at Everton.
