I don't think Emery is that strict, and he's definitely more than just a fitness merchant. His teams do play a high-tempo pressing game and the players need to be fit but he's absolutely obsessed with the technical side as well.

Yep, split centre halves, short passing from the back, midfielder coming deep....but all done 10 times quicker than we were doing it last season and before.
 
...the Overmars appointment should be some assurance for those concerned with bringing youngsters through. He will be steeped in the successful Dutch academy structures, could be an astute piece of business by Moshiri.
He will still need a manager that will pick them.
 


I still believe Moshiri will hire a manager who will succeed at Everton, but man, he won't receive any compliments in regards to organization and efficiency from me. The second half of June is going to be a scramble to get everything organized from football operations to transfer plans. Secretaries and administrative assistants at Goodison all have my sympathy.
