One aspect has puzzled me today, for Everton to talk to Emery's representatives, would that not have needed the consent of Sevilla to approach their manager? I haven't seen this referred to anywhere.

Not if you do the "Is he interested? What would he want? Tell him we will offer..." to his agent.

Happens all the time nowadays.

Just need permission from Sevilla to speak to him directly but he has a buy-out clause.
