We mocked them on RAWK when they thought they could get Klopp. I thought it was absolute delusion.

Over the past week it has struck me how crap pundits think the Everton job is. When Merson was asked about the job, he said it was ok if we could keep hold of Rom, Stones and Barkley, if not, don't bother. We have heard how heard how compared to the Southampton job, the Everton job is at best a sideways step and at worse a backwards step.

I think there are many in the media who don't want us to get a big name, don't want us to compete. I think some are a bit rattled, we have this new investor who hasn't said much. He is an unknown entity. It could be more of the same or he could turn us into top four contenders.

If the media had there way we would have Nigel Pearson or Eddie Howe.

We have the same players who got 72 points, 2 yeas ago. 72 points this season would have us sat in 2nd. What makes it even more disappointing is that in the past 2 years we have sold no one of note. In that time Liverpool have lost Suarez, Gerrard, Stirling and have had a half fit Sturridge.

We will just have to see how it goes. But personally, I think the Everton job is very attractive right now.
