I regard it as an excellent ploy. Usmanov is not stupid. Vote of confidence to Wenger, give him long term contract, Wenger has shown he will never win the league. Jose appoined manager of the Mighty Blues. Surprise surprise Usmanov joins before Xmas. Jose has one less team to worry about on our way to the title. What's not to like? Pretty smart if you ask me.
Oh and by the way, Mourino already agreed terms with EFC, signed and sealed. Pretending to be waiting for ManUre. They sack LvG. He tells them to do one. They can't get a half decent manager so that's them out the reckoning for a while!
Would be fun if it were true :)
Hahaha ye class statement mate

If it wasn't for Wenger, they wouldn't be playing in that nice arena known as the Emirates.

In fact, Before Arsene Wenger became coach at Arsenal, not only were they known as boring boring Arsenal. But they had finished top 4, 23x in their entire history. Now they are on their 20th top 4 finish in a row.

Breaking the record of as far back as 1931-1935 (5 seasons in a row of top 4 finishes)

Wenger has delivered them 3 titles in his 20 year reign and 7 FA Cups. (From 1954-1995 they only won the league 3x and the FA Cup 3x).

For the amazing season that Spurs have had, Wenger has been known as a failure despite finishing 2nd and above them. Despite spending less than his rivals.

Absolutely. I never understood why people think he is a failure. Does anyone really think there will be an EPL or UCL champ outside the big money? While I want Leicester to win the UCL next year, chances are slim. Chances are they can't even defend their title next year. And let's not forget, they did do a good amount of shopping preseason. I will take him in a heartbeat for DoF role if ever possible.

The side of their fans argument that I might agree with is that there are better coaches out there that might be able to achieve what he did or even better, the problem is whether they (and us) can get them before they are poached by big money.

Top brick layer is Arsene!

I just can not see for the life of me why Usmanov would want to stay at Arsenal, he has no say, they don't win leagues, him and Moshiri stuck it out for 10 years to try and oust Kroneke and failed, he doesn't and won't put a penny in while Kroneke is the boss, he could give his shares to a tramp on the street and not be arsed.

It's all about running your own club, he sees Roman doing it, he sees Mansour doing it, and now Moshiri has done it.

I have a very open mind to this all being a master plan by Moshiri and Usmanov, there is no rush now, Moshiri has his foot well and truly in the door, I just can't see why Usmanov would not want to be part of owning his own team in the Prem with Moshiri.
