Given how close Usmanov and Moshiri are - were there no questions asked by the league before they sanctioned the deal?

Q. Are you and Usmanov stitching up a deal for Everton.....A. Yes

Q. Is it your intent to put Everton back at the top and kick the crap out of the RS.....A. Yes

O.K. You have our blessing

Also, the Companies Act 2006 also restricts directors involvement in other companies where the may be a conflict of interest.

Bottom line, Usmanov will not be joining our club until he manages to offload his 30% share at Arsenal - which, may I add, is extremely unlikely in the given circumstances.

I think everybody realises he can't own a stake in both clubs.

A lot of people seemingly don't.

It's unlikely that Usmanov will sell his shares at Arsenal, seeing that he's a huge supporter of the club and has a lot of personal interest in the club.

They do. We all know that if he wishes to be involved with our club he has to get rid of his shares.....that's what most of this thread has been about......

Arsene Wenger has been backed to remain at Arsenal by the club's second largest shareholder Alisher Usmanov, despite the side's "haunting" failures.

The Frenchman has felt the wrath of some supporters in recent weeks following exits from the Champions league and FA Cup, as poor results have also seen them stumble in their Premier League title charge.

Some fans have taken to unfurling banners calling for Wenger to go following just five league wins since Christmas.

Usmanov recently increased his stake in the club to around 30 per cent
However, Usmanov, who recently increased his stake in the club to around 30 per cent, has offered Wenger his support, saying Arsenal "need" the 66-year-old to remain at the Emirates.

"Arsenal's results are stable," he told Rossiya24. "They are always among the leaders of the English Premier League. This is a good and large sports business project, and I am pleased with it.

"The only thing is that today such situation occurred, like in any sport, there are ups and downs. The club must retain its major symbol and main asset - manager Arsene Wenger.

"Failures have been haunting Arsenal for many years now, they cannot become the EPL champions. This has led to some discontent with Wenger's position as a manager.

"I believe that Arsene Wenger is a great coach, and Arsenal have to give him the opportunity to plan the succession process and leave his legacy when he deems it necessary.

Arsenal were knocked out of the FA Cup by Watford
"It is very important for the football club to maintain the principles that were established by those people who created its victories. Arsenal need Arsene Wenger."

Wenger's current contract is set to expire at the end of next season.

I regard it as an excellent ploy. Usmanov is not stupid. Vote of confidence to Wenger, give him long term contract, Wenger has shown he will never win the league. Jose appoined manager of the Mighty Blues. Surprise surprise Usmanov joins before Xmas. Jose has one less team to worry about on our way to the title. What's not to like? Pretty smart if you ask me.
Oh and by the way, Mourino already agreed terms with EFC, signed and sealed. Pretending to be waiting for ManUre. They sack LvG. He tells them to do one. They can't get a half decent manager so that's them out the reckoning for a while!
Would be fun if it were true :)
