Possibly, but shirt and any other form of sponsorship will go to the highest bidder. With a new high profile manager, and a new stadium, hopefully iconic, and a significantly enhanced squad, our sponsorship value will increase enormously.

Therefore it makes sense to see out another year with Chang whilst putting all of the above in place. Our negotiation position and premium brand proposition will be much greater as a result.
Thanks Esk

Do you have no concerns about this so-called prestigious site that is Trafalgar Dock? Do you honestly think we could make it work on the land that is vacant there now?

I don't. This waterfront thing is a bit romantic. Adjacent to the site, you'd have to knock everything down between Regent Rd and Great Howard Street, and Costco and Stanley Dock.

All my opinion of course.

I think there are a number of challenges to Trafalgar dock including access and the surrounding environs but the little I have heard is that it's do-able.

Think matters will become much clearer in the next few weeks although no specific time frame yet.

That's good to hear. If it was done right, it would be amazing.

However, it would be awful if we just plonked a new stadium on the currently vacant land.

I've outlined my vision. Knock all them streets down... And then we can start building a world class, iconic stadium...

I think FFP is $60m loss max, so with Moshiri's expertise, I think we can do it whichever way.

No limits on "infrastructure" related expenses. Moshiri can spend as much as he likes on Everton's stadium. As these costs are excluded from FFP consideration unlike running costs.

Would he bring sponsorship from megafon and the metal company Esk you reckon ?

If your after sponsorship from any Russian company, then Gazprom is the one to go for, majorly involved in sponsorship deals across sport in general, but heavily involved in football sponsorship in multiple ways, CL sponsor, Zenit sponsor, and numerous other sponsorship deals in and outside of Russia.

They also seem to have a company 'policy' of expanding the image of the brand through this as well (sports sponsorship), any of stadium naming rights, Shirt sponsorship deal, or general sponsoship of some form would bring in a vast amount of money and give Gazprom a Huge Profile boost in emerging markers from the high visibility of sponsoring a premiership team

Given the Russian policy of looking east rather than west (China, Thailand etc), and given that in the east is where the premiership bubble is growing the fastest - makes sense that sooner or later Gazprom will want a high profile flagship in this league

On that note mate, if a Russian company set its sights on sponsoring shirts/Stadia etc, then they would get it, they don't tend to mess around about pennies here and there when they set their sights on something

Hi mate, Gazprom would be amazing sponsors for sure, but aside from existing club commitments with Zenit, haven't they made a strategic decision to direct future sponsorship activities at governing body levels, ie UEFA and FIFA rather than individual clubs?

Gazprom's biggest European market is Germany as Germany is a huge natural gas importer compared to UK.

They are also home to Gazproms largest subsidiary which is an enormous trading company. For projects outside Russia.

It's that company that is heavily sponsoring German teams close to its main market.

They will not likely be that interested in UK as we home several multinationals already which are bigger than they are here and purchase gas direct from Gazprom in Russia.

What I'm saying is this is very unlikely. Based on political reality.

However Everton could clearly have multiple suitors. So the sentiment is right.

However. I have no faith in Robert Elstone who has consistently undersold Everton. Then proclaimed woeful revenues as good performance.

Everybody appears to be making out that moshiri is somehow going to throw his personal fortune into the ring, but that's not how it will work. The major difference with having him on board now is that lenders will be falling over themselves to lend the club money on far more favourable terms than we have ever been offered. This alone will allow the stadium funding to be put in place.

Think they are focusing heavily on that as you have said mate, but still hasn't stopped them tying up various deals over the past 3-5 years involving Chelsea (official energy partner - and can see their sponsorship influence all around the Hoardings), Red Star Belgrade (Shirt, Hoardings and youth team sponsors) and Shalke (recently extended unto 2017 - which goes against them pulling away from club sponsorships), and obviously they sponsor Zenit to an absolutely ridiculous amount

Overall think both Zenit and Shalke come in exceptionally highly in terms of their sponsorship deals (20m a year fpor Schalke as example which is far and away above their 'market value'.

Internationally - obviously their one if not the main sponsor of the CL, and are an offical sponsor of FIFA (think that deal runs until after the World cup in Russia).

Until the world cup is done and dusted in Russia you may see a more singular approach from them thats true, but it is only 2 years away, and after that who knows what direction they wil take, for them NOT to have a very high visibility vehicle for them in the premiership does seem strange though - and think it will be sooner rather than later before they rectify that, then again 2 years would tie in nicely for us with exsiting deals ending and 'hopefuly' a new ground well under way

All musing out loud by me ofc, but of the REALLY big fish who Moshiri has had clos contacts with over the years (Usmanov basically is responsible for the way Gazprom is today - and likely for it's involvment in sport as well), they are the ones who would be the prize catch

That was on a deal they struck with Schalke i think back in 2012/13 mate, second highest in the Bundesliga by some way as well - the 20m though was in Euro's - so at the time around 16m quid a year - still shows the amount they are willing to throw around though

Access would be the major hurdle but I'd be quite happy getting the train to town, strolling down to the Pier Head and jumping on one of the dozen or so special Everton Ferries that they put on for match day to dock at the ground.

Still, sweet baby jesus... our 3 year is £16m in total. Absolutely mental.

Even if they sponsored us at £10m a year it would dwarf anything we have had before....! Get on in Moshiri.

Think that I mentioned they would see out existing obligations mate, and certainly continue with Zenit but I am aware they plan no new sponsorship activities at club level.
