Why there is a demand for change and the reasons to be optimistic for the future

Money talks friend.

VIlla are shutting stands. We are not.

Did I compare us to Villa?

No, I compared us to West Ham and their European football/Olympic Stadium.

To re-iterate, I actually agree with you, I think we will do great things under Moshiri. But you're being irrational by attacking any poster who doesn't think we're automatically above West Ham and Southampton in signing power.

It was a very dubious post at the start.

When you stated that. It was totally unacceptable.

I can only think you are very easily excitable.

And as only you seem to have raised an issue with my points, judging by the rest of your comments I feel slightly even more vindicated in the original post :)

Vindicated?

For this?

I'm calling caution for all Evertonians.

Usually when an investor comes into a club they like to issue some sort of statement to show their arrival. Up until now we have heard nothing, which is no different from operations at board level for the last 15 years.

Whilst I would like to believe good times are around the corner, the fact Martinez was left in charge until the end of the season is the first alarm bell ringing for me, especially after the complete and utter humiliation the fans we're put through at Anfield.

We know nothing is going to happen overnight, but to let the season just fizzle to nothing and let him stay after what he himself called his "defining week", whilst we sit here watching our neighbours probably qualify for CL footy again just about sums the club up, even though there is nothing we can do about the latter obviously.

We won't be able to attract top drawer players due to the fact we can't offer European football, plus any next tier players will always prefer a move to our neighbours or possibly the likes of Southampton or West Ham due to location.

Whilst I am sure this original post was great in getting everybody more hopeful for the future, I think cautious optimism may be the order of the day for me. After all, it's Everton, unless we appoint a Mourinho who is going to change the whole ethos and thinking throughout the club then the next manager is basically coming in with a bit of a rebuilding job.

When will we hear either way the silence is deafening now? After Norwich? In the Summer? Next year when we are 17th?

Good to see Damo back in full swing.

Spat my coffee out reading some of this earlier.

Well, I'm really looking forward to the summer for once. The thought of being able to compete is thrilling in the least. Think it's going to be a crazy summer as we need quite a few players. Who knows we may even persuade Stones and Lukaku that the future is bright.

I don't believe Esk would put himself out there if he wasn't certain and that's good enough for me.

You do know his real name right ? Robert Eskstone you know the financial expert also CEO of Everton ;)
We all wonder were his financial acumen comes from lol
