where did it go wrong

The night of the storm.

If that match had gone ahead that night we would probably have beaten Palace.

They were on a bad run at that time.

By the time the fixture was re-arranged they had found some form and you know the rest.

We blew our big chance to make the CL that night....and it has been pretty much all downhill since :(

Roberto was undone by an Act of God.

Very very unluck

This season was amazing, so many good memories! Deulofeu at Arsenal and Barkleys late free kick at Swansea. Amazing days out :(

Poor bobby that he FCUK'ed it

@davek must have this on loop in the background while on here to help keep himon the 72 point message. wish i could see martinez getting us back here, but he's just taken us further and further from it.

The time when he got rid of all Moyes's old practice in defence. We don't practice corners nowadays...is it?

I don't have a clue. Didn't Bainsey said we rarely practice setpieces?

Nothing concrete, just murmurs and speculation. Given the many failings of the team (stamina, defence, crossing), it seems like they don't even practice anything other than passing.

For me here -

*Cringe*

Proof that the jinxing is a real, palpable phenomenon in the universe.

In all seriousness though...

Teams rarely had answers to our tactics and individual players in his first season.

Second season they figured it out and Martinez, instead of adapting, stuck with it.
Teams began to pressure the defence more and crowd the midfield/box when we had the ball.
The inability to break these teams down through ineffective passing, and the defensive errors (too many to blame on individuals, rather a lack of coaching/coherent defensive tactics) meant that we conceded more and scored less.

Third season and the defensive frailties are still there. We still struggle to break defensively minded teams down and rely too heavily on individuals (Lukaku) for good results. The fans are agitated and, despite what some on here say about it being deserved etc, this has an effect on match performances. Booing (justified or not) and the atmosphere creates a lot of pressure on the team and increases the likelihood of poor results. The manager lost the fans and, as some suspect, the dressing room too.

That video brings back so many memories! Anyway, the turning point for me was the Leicester home game last season. I know we had been bad before, but that was the game where i first thought Bobby wasnt all that. He should have gone at the beginning of this season IMO
