Not sure if this has been asked in this thread, but, assuming we beat Bournemouth on Saturday, which would I believe put us mathematically safe, would you play Howard in the final home game?

Personally, I would. 100%

At that point why not? I'd play all the older guys likely on their way out.

I think that would make for a more fun atmosphere than watching the dread that the current team has become just now. Bit of nostalgia on the way out. None of these players will ever be considered "excellent", a few barely even "average". However, I've watched many matches where the team was made up of these players and regardless of whether they brought us any true accomplishments I have a lot of fond memories of their time. Would be nice to see them get one last run for Everton and signal a "turning of the tide", if you will.

I think no doubt Tim gets a start against Norwich unless the unthinkable happens and that game actually matters. Once Norwich gets beat down by Arsenal this weekend, we are then officially safe.

Confirmed he's starting the last 2 home games, Joel plays in the last 2 away.

Regardless of how poor many of his performances have been in the last two seasons, Martinez's treatment of him has been nothing short of a disgrace. He was clearly past it 2 years ago and Martinez has hung him out to dry on the basis of "experience". None of that excuses how good a servant he's been for us in his time here - as he said, the man bleeds blue. I hope he gets a great reception.
