Beer, revisited

where do you get these from mate? seen a few online but v expensive
We get ours from Beer 52 mate: https://www.beer52.com/

I've just looked on the website and it says 24 quid a month for a box of 8, with a snack and their newspaper, but we've always got 10 which works out at £2.40 a beer which I thought was sound. So I dunno whether they've just changed it and we'll get 8 in the next one :(.

£3 a bottle is still okay for quality beers I suppose, but I might have to think twice about that 'cos its a blind buy each time.

When the missus signed up she got trial one for a quid off groupon or some site like that, so it might be worth seeing what you find with a search for offers.

tempting...but still v pricey, especially as you can now get some decent craft ales in the bigger supermarkets, just choice a bit limited

True, we did a quick add up on the first box we bought and came out well ahead as one or two of them were £4-5 in specialist offies, and the rest were at least £3, and there were some from the USA, Italy, NZ and so-on, so it was a good deal at £2.40 a bottle, but like I say, if they've changed the price now for new signups that would make me think twice.

There's a speciality beer shop in Dale St mate - Ship in a bottle.

They also have one in West Kirkby.

They have an amazing selection of GB and world beers.

The reason they're expensive in relation to the supermarkets is the supermarkets buy massively in bulk and get discounts as a result.

There's some good stuff in the supermarkets at the mo - Asda being very good imo - 4 decent beers for a fiver.

Nothing spells domestic violence in Western Australia like a can of 'Bush Chook'.
It's an acquired taste but if the weathers hot enough it goes down alright and its also cheap :drunk:

I've tried the Un-human Cannonball, Cloudwater DIPAv3 & Beavertown Skull King, all fab. Fancy the Stone Ruination, never had a bad Buxton beer and not seen the Soleil du Glace anywhere.

Hope you have a fantastic weekend, I would with those beers. ;)

Thanks - I only have tonight to get stuck into them sadly as away the rest of the weekend! Gonna have to stick to halves me thinks as they are like rocket fuel!

I have tried Kingmaker, Un-Human Cannonball, V3 and Skull King in bottles/cans but not had any on draft. Of those I've had the Magic Rock and Cloudwater are best (I think?!).

The Soleil du Glace one is Mad Hatters Breing Co from Liverpool so will try that one first I think!
