Yep. Whether it was just avoid the question in front of the fans to save aggro I'll guess we'll find out this week. I don't think I can wait another three!

For anyone who says that we should just wait until the end of the season, imagine the lap of honour post Norwich... Never mind the reception he'd receive at Bournemouth. He just has to go and surely our board know it.

Personally think it's dangerous games to not at least release some sort of statement this week to announce he will be leaving. The fans aren't happy so it would allow them to get behind the team for the final few games if they know he won't be here next season. If they stay silent despite the fact he is going then the unrest will grow until the point where it will force their hand.

It's best for both, Martinez will publicly be available which would allow any team wanting him to be able to approach him rather than approaching an employed manager and hopefully the club could start the groundwork for his replacement to join on 1st June

It'll be announced around the end of the season, they've written him and the season off, but need to wait for the new guy to become available...or so it seems.

I don't think that would make a difference. He will leave after last game anyway now there's nothing to play for. Any manager currently employed will be focusing on their clubs and in the case of Pellegrini for arguments sake he can start negotiations the day after.

No manager bar Jose is available now and we aren't taking one on until 1st June so there isn't much rush I don't think to hurry it along.

The fans just want a statement though, an official statement and they can appease the 40 000 going the game that Martinez is not rebuilding for next season.

In an ideal world, probably. I imagine it also takes as long as those things you mentioned for the board to weigh up their options and find the right man, which it doesn't look like they have done yet. Also, its surely best to wait until the movements in the summer and see who is available? It might be somebody already managing a team.
It's irrelevant, he needs to go as a clear statement of intent, to clear the air and put the fans out of their misery. We just appoint a caretaker for a few weeks and then sort out the new manager.

I disagree, I think we need a statement of intent from the club at the very least but I would prefer to see him sacked today. What good is there in keeping him for 4 games, the players won't play for him and the fans won't support him. Sack him today, let a temporary management team take over and give us a wee lift then announce the new man as soon as the seasons over.

This ^

Keeping a dead man walking in situ for the last few weeks isn't the way to go here.

Just agree the terms of his departure and get rid tomorrow, so we close the Martinez chapter and ensure that every manager who might fancy it is aware of the vacancy that we need to fill - preferably before the players depart on their summer holidays / Euros duty.
