He definitely has to go now for me too. Was prepared to see how it went this season. There are various aspects that produce a winning team, it's all well and good playing attacking football but in British football if you ignore defense and fitness then you'll get nowhere (unless you're very lucky). It's obvious he hasn't cottoned on to this yet and we don't have any more time to waste.

Definitely this. Some are saying "what's the point doing it now wait until the end of the season".

Sorry but that's the wrong thing to do IMO. There's so much a new man needs to do and needs as much time as possible.

He will have his own ideas on pre-season, training camps, quality of opposition, number of games, etc etc.

More importantly is the playing side of things. It makes sense for a new man to work with the current crop of players for a few weeks, watch them in training and then in the last few games to get a clearer idea of strengths and weaknesses in the squad prior to where he wants to strengthen in the summer.

A replacement maybe employed elsewhere and wouldn't be able to come in straight away a la Moyes at the end for us, but just like Moyes, he would still be able to do some planning with us whilst seeing out the season elsewhere.

There's so much for a new manager to do. Most importantly, it would be good for us supporters to know exactly what is going on regarding Martinez without having to be left on tenterhooks for another few weeks.

In an ideal world, probably. I imagine it also takes as long as those things you mentioned for the board to weigh up their options and find the right man, which it doesn't look like they have done yet. Also, its surely best to wait until the movements in the summer and see who is available? It might be somebody already managing a team.

Still can't believe he claimed the club haven't invested any money as a reason as to why we are performing so badly. It's laughable really.

I'm sorry Roberto, thst 28 million pound striker, 9 million pound defender and 13 5 million pound midfielder not exist then? Or the 13 million pound striker you aren't playing not bought with money?

Be interesting to know considering he hasn't had to sell players how long it took Moyes to spend a similar amount of money

How many barren windows has martinez had, again? moylez had about four on the bounce, didn't he?

Personally think if he hasn't gone by the end of tomorrow they are planning to let him see out the season. Although surely their hands would be tied if we lose another 2 on the bounce

Reading the posts by the Esk, that process has already been going on for a while..

The problem is though, if the new man we wanted was already managing at a club, then it's not going to be straight forward getting him in. This is why IMO the club will keep Martinez till the end of the season.

Can't believe with how our league run has gone and general dissatisfaction of the players to his methods, that moshiri hasn't been looking at viable alternatives. If it was kenwright I could believe it, but a real statement of intent to be made by moshiri with this appointment. We want a proven winner to share his vision, to take us to the next level and attract players to the club.

If the Derby and yesterday isn't getting him sacked then two more losses won't do anything to speed up his departure, he'll be allowed to see it out till the end of the season IMO.

No doubt at all that we're trying to identify the right man, and hopefully have him installed the day the final whistle goes against Leicester. Speaking of which, they'll be praying that he stays, as if they need the points to win the league they'll have a much better chance of getting them with him still in charge.

The man is just saying words now, the words don't bear any resemblance to reality. Talking about silverware when you have just lost a semi final to an ordinary side, talking about not having money when you just wasted £13-5 million on an ornament. Talking about Champions League when you are in the bottom half of the table.
