Does anyone really think he will go of his own volition?
I'm dreading Martinez will go on to point to what might have beens (if only the penalty had gone in), a positive second-half performance, spout his usual 'we are on the right track' rhetoric and say we were unfortunate to lose to an injury-time goal (a staple of his tenure) and say the luck hasn't been on our side all season.
This will earn brownie points with family-man, lets not rock the boat Bill and in true Johnny Logan-esque fashion, there will be 'What's another year'!
Its perhaps the worst of both worlds today, we are (narrowly) out of the cup and as a result, could we be possibly stuck with brown-shoe Bobby?
The (founded) worry is that our board doesn't have the nerve to actually step up and make a decision. Much like Jagielka and Stones at times.
We have been doing the same things, week-in, week-out and nothing changes. Its now or never really if the board are serious.
Ideally he should take his leave himself and depart the scene with some good grace and chalk it up to a failed experiment. But we are never that lucky, are we?
