He doesn't anticipate anything off the ball, always about 20 yards away from rom and standing still. The chemistry between them in the first season is nowhere to be seen

After this season he needs time to reflect and get his head together, he needs to add knowledge and work rate to his game. Hopefully he doesn't make the Euros for his sake and Everton.

He's a playmaker. He can't "make the play" if nobody is supporting an attack. He has no.options whatsoever.

People are moaning about him not defending, when the reality is he shouldn't be.

He's not a playmaker. He's an attacking central midfielder.

He collects the ball, carries it and loses it.

He makes few incisive defence-splitting passes that actually get through to their intended target. When he does look up (from stationary or near stationary) he takes far too long to make his mind up - and when he does it's usually the wrong pass (again - IF it gets through).

He dawdles far too much, and he shows far too much of the ball when running.

The thing he gets right the most is his turning in tight areas - and when he gets that right he's usually helped by a rebound.

Badly, BADLY overhyped.

Your first sentence was wrong. He's a natural playmaker. He takes the ball and looks for supporting options.

If you're expecting him to be a different player and are upset at him not being it, that's your problem for not understanding the role he has.

He can't even do that though.

A playmaker usually completes his pass. A playmaker makes his mind up within a second or two. A playmaker will not run directly into the nearest opposition player the moment he picks up the ball, nor run down blind alleys.

He is an individualist who's been indulged. He needs to learn that the onus is on him to produce for the team, in essence he needs a work ethic instilled into him.

The same goes for a few more in that side, not just him. But he's the fulcrum.

Also won the penalty by the way. He also didn't mouth off about a move when in form earlier in the season.

Nobody mentions that like.

Fat mess. Needs to sort his head out. Needs to take responsibility for himself, regardless of who the manager is. He'll destroy his reputation amongst the Talk Sport crowd at the Euros this Summer.

He does though. I counted twelve times in the game where he had the ball, kept hold of it and was crowded by three players because literally no bugger was anywhere near him.

You can't make the play if there's no play to be made.

When he had the ball today he was in no different a scenario than in a league game. He had passes on today and a fair few didn't get there. And once again, he dawdled.

And once or twice he was helped by the referee
