@The Esk

Always found you to have a balanced / well thought out view.

Just mildly concerned you're putting too much faith in Moshiri without just cause. For me, he's a bit of a wildcard atm.

- In that statement he commits to “ensure that the Club recaptures the glory days of the past and builds sustained success in the future”. -

Wouldn't anybody say this?

I'm hopeful that he is going to back this up, but at the moment it's more a hope than a certainty right?

Mate I'm reminded of the film "Oldboy". I wonder has Everton done something in Moshies past to have him seek out revenge. I know his niece was knee deep in dick pics at one stage due to over-enthusiastic blues but he'd taken us over at that point. HAVE WE WRONGED YOU MOSHY?. FORGIVE US.

In terms of resources it's a certainty, the question is who delivers the success on the pitch.

Martinez has proven himself incapable of being that person and thus my assertion he will be relieved of his duties in the very near future.

If he isn't removed by, say, July we can start panicking?

I am 100% enthusiastic about Moshiri and fully believe he will bring investment, impetus, professionalism, nous - all things that we so despearately need. From day one though, I read that his personal wealth is "only" half that of Peter Coates at Stoke and approx 1/3 of that of Joe Lewis.

I understand he will acquire the remainder of Kenwright and Woods equity in due course (and that of Abercromby?) - but does he then intend to bring other high net worth individuals on board to fund transfers, new stadium etc? (and dilute his holdings?) I cannot at the moment see where the money is coming from - yes if its competing with Stoke and West Ham for example - but not if his ambition is much higher - unless Moshiri is planning on being extraordinarily generous to EFC with his personal wealth.

Forgive my cynicism, (and I'm sure, ignorance) I have just thought that this was pertinent from the day he was announced as major shareholder.

I think the Board can't really sack him now due to the timing of the semi final. If they were to relieve him of his duties then there would have to a management contingency plan which clearly isn't in place. Sacking him without a contingency plan would result in 35,000+ Evertonians running round like Corporal Jones in Dad's SArmy shout 'Don't Panic! Don't Panic!" Imagine that just before the United game.

Think we will just have to wait a few more days before the official position is known.

To be fair I'm already panicking. If you ask me, there's no risk at all in sacking him now. It won't get any worse without him. The chances that we gain something from it far outweight the chances of losing even more imo.

Hmm, it will be interesting i suspect The Esk has an insight track on this.

Its broadly unfortunate as i firmly believe that the management team have a strong affection for Everton and tremndous good will gone into their work over seasons. No bad intentions, politics or self promotion.

Im fascinated at how the new regime manage this, will be interesting.

Are we doing enough to get our voices heard outside this forum? Unleashing a Martinez out banner in full force in a semi final will work without a doubt. But I think many will just dismiss the idea and continue to keep this within Internet forum.

Maybe the people the board has been speaking with are not available immediately? That will be the only reason why Martinez is not removed now. But I think we might even do better in the cup if we have no manager in charge.

I like that idea, let the players pick who gets to play, be a massive fight, but the 10 that head out that day will be the 10 that wanted it most.. and Lukaku.. lets face it, no one is gonna fight with Lukaku..
