Here's the recording of my earlier call on 5 Live. Just a couple of things - it's extremely difficult to keep the conversation going in the direction you want rather than where they want to take it, and if you try to interject then they close down you microphone as happened this evening at one point.

Having said that, objective achieved, 8 minutes of talking about Martinez must go, Moyes being unsuitable and we should set our targets high helps get the message across.
Listened to this just now Esk and thought you aquitted yourself very well indeed. Well reasoned argument, eloquently put.
I also thought that Fletcher came across reasonably well too, certainly not like the pantomime villain some would have you believe.

Bill and Moshiri are hardly going to tell a random selfie loving fan on the train "yeah that Spanish whopper is history in the summer" are they.

They probably just wanted him to do one and leave them alone
Still think it is funny you see entire discussions elsewhere and none of them seem to realize this.

For me i mean it like playing say Ferdinand in defence. Talking how great he is on the ball, great at shouting at people, great at this etc but then we concede goals through the middle anyway.

I know what you mean. Martinez has a philosophy of how the game should be played. It is the same philosophy here as it was
at Wigan. I think most teams would struggle to play to his philosophy. Other managers have a squad, or build a squad to perform to the best of their ability. The manager knows the teams strengths and weaknesses.

Our former manager made us hard to beat, Goodison was a difficult place to come to for visiting teams.
Other prem managers set up their teams to their strengths to get a result.

Martinez has a philosophy that he seems to think the team and whoever is in it should play to, it is like putting a square peg in a round hole at times yet he can`t or refuses to see this is not working with the players he has. I do not think his philosophy is suited to the English game, yet he persists with it. The players look totally disheartened.

Still not lost in a while though. The players aren't trying hard enough to get him sacked, imo. They need to try harder.

Whilst you may celebrate a point in each game against Watford, Palace and Southampton at home, those used to be games we would win, or at least pick up more than a scrappy, lucky point in each one.

We haven't won one in a while either BTW lol

So you agree that the players should be trying harder to get him sacked? I personally think it's a disgrace that we've not lost the last few games. The players need to make more of an effort.

what on earth are you blathering on about?

I don't actually care whether they are playing for him or not. I am more interested in the fact that we are a complete shambles on the pitch. If you wish to debate about that and use the last 3 games as why we aren't, then crack on, I await your reply with much interest.
