Good player and had a steady game without pulling up any trees. No player can play a blinder every game. Still see him as a future captain as he is the only fist pumper and motivator we have. Always looking for the right pass and if our players made themselves more available we would also see a better Besic.

Think Besic really knows whats up. Always tries to get himself about, definitely wants to be playing every week. If he can stay fit and rack performances up, he will improve a great deal. He has got something about him has Besic!

I agree....injury/fitness is the major yardstick to what he can develop into for us. Disciplinary wise, solid games under his belt can only help him adjust to the tempo here properly...not this stop/start lark. I like Besic's style and the fact that he gives us the outlet of an intelligent midfield pass, and above all accuracy with it too which seems to have disappeared amongst the rest of them. God help us, we could do with a bit of culture in the side.

Mo Besic has called for a united front as Everton enter a pivotal week in the season.

The Blues midfielder is urging for everyone at Goodison to stick together after ugly scenes during Saturday’s game with Southampton.

A much-changed Everton side drew 1-1 with Southampton and jeers greeted the full-time whistle after a poor performance.

Ramiro Funes Mori put Everton ahead against the run of play but the Blues held the lead for just nine minutes as Sadio Mane struck an equaliser.

It prompted one angry fan to run onto the pitch and remonstrate with the players and Roberto Martinez.

“It’s their choice,” Besic said.

“We will always give our best.

“You can’t say the season is all bad, just maybe we didn’t win so many games but we are also in the semi-final.

“They should be behind us.”

He added: “That’s the fans, they are always right, that is not a problem for us, I just mean we have to be together, all the fans, the players, the staff to reach the final and maybe win the cup.”

Besic says the players know the supporters are not happy but he insists they are not afraid to play at Goodison.

“You feel that, but we are professional footballers and we have to deal with that,” Besic said.

“Away is a different game, we have to defend more and the opponent has more of the ball.

“Here we have to take the ball and play. That is maybe the difference this season not that we are afraid to play at home.

“Maybe, we feel better to defend and play on the counter.”

Everton will be hoping to extend their good away record at Anfield on Wednesday night.

“We have to win. We can’t be nervous or think about the semi-final,” Besic insisted.

“We just have to go from game to game.

“The Liverpool game is more for the fans. We just see them as a normal opponent.”

If it was Martinez being quoted for those words, my word we would have a meltdown in here.

Seemed quite reasonable to me.

Also on the performances;

Barry + McCarthy = McCarthy does the running
Gibson + Besic = Besic does the running

Think this is a factor in those two having to adapt their games to cover for othrs weaknesses.

Martinez basically blamed the fans, Mo is blaming the tactics.

Not doubting his words' reasonability.
But if Martinez said this we would have a meltdown...

This.

Really? Semi-final is another trophy then.

He's got some nerve mouthing off, he's put in about 3 good displays since he's been here yet seems to have accumulated a weird cult folowing akin to love struck teenagers infatuated with their first boyfriend.

Plus he gave the worst performance I've seen by any professional player ever in the 45 minutes against Arsenal.

Not to mention other fans saying what fans should be doing.

Lots of finger pointing. Not so much taking responsibility.

I agree,

Things like take banners/ don't take banners.
Sing/ don't sing
Boo /don't boo.

Going the match is an individual thing, go the game, do what you want (within reason) then go home.

Can he hand on heart really say that all the players have been giving their best? It doesn't look like it from where I'm watching. The players need to give the fans a reason to be happy, a roaring goodison is an intimidating place to play, that its not is on the manager and players

I think you are making an issue over nothing there seeing as he actually hasnt said anything bad there at all.
