I have no doubt he'll be sacked. The idea of us going into another season with him at the helm is farcical, I just don't see any chance of it happening. The board can't not sack him at this point.
If we don't beat Palace I think he'll be gone before the weekend, if we do I think he will get until the end of the season

read these thoughts on the clev today for the first time.
“I think you do not have a better English player. Technically, he is as good as you get. The way he executes, how he reads the game, for me he is one of the most sensational you are going to see in Premier League history.”

if there was ever a perfect example of the delusion he is trying to sell as ideal football it is summed up perfectly there. he's said so many things this year that tell me he's lost it 100%. still would be happy to have him prove me wrong, but I'd be just as happy to see him gone. the managers available this summer are about as good a crop as we'll get to pick from as ever. his employment should be contingent on points right now; no pointsno job

He has, as it stands, lost what appears to be the majority of the fans.

This cannot bode well for his future, barring something pretty spectacular.

Yeah. You simply can't go into a season with 80-90% of your fan base wanting the manager out lol

I don't even agree with Martinez when he says "We get results away from home". He makes it sound like our away form is great, when it isn't, it's merely acceptable. In our last 11 away league games since the end of September we've only won 3, and 2 of those were against the bottom 2 clubs.

Our away form is 6th best in the league, which is on average around about where we finished with Moyes. So our away form is pretty good. The season doesn't start at the end of September.

6th best in the league, that's why I said it was 'acceptable'. I personally would deem anything less than 6th best as not achieving the minimum what we should be aiming for.

Appreciate the shout that the season doesn't start at the end of September, but it does highlight the fact that our 'recent' away form is pretty poor, considering 2 of our 5 away wins this season happened before October.

Moving goal posts to support arguments is always accepted unless it doesn't agree with the pervasive narrative.

And how exactly have I 'moved the goal posts'? That would imply I've changed the basis of my argument, and am dismissing the evidence and demanding more evidence to back up my new argument, which I haven't. If you're going to try and be clever then maybe you should at least make sure you accuse me of the correct informal fallacy.

I'm assuming you meant to accuse me of cherry picking? That would be a more relevent accusation. But I'd argue against that too. I'm not choosing to dismiss data WITHIN a data set, just because it doesn't fit my 'pervasive narrative', I've just defined a recent run of results to highlight our form. It's not my fault that 2 out of our 5 away wins came early in the season.

:coffee:

Raw facts:

  • We're 14th
  • We were 11th last year
  • We have no chance of a top 7 finish this season
  • Team morale is through the floor
  • The fans overwhelmingly want the manager sacked judging by polls everywhere I turn
  • We have one of the top forwards in the league yet might not even finish top half
  • Our win % in the league this season is 29%
  • Martinez will be sacked.
