List for Sergei

I remember it was £40 or £50 in February there but just checked it first time now and it's £0.
Just thinking about putting the carpet.
It's because my wife told me that she can come in a half of a year at the very best or even later. So I suppose to live here for a long time and my floors are [Poor language removed]. I already saw a few huge spiders because of the holes in the floor. I think there is no need to wait for a year or so if I live with a terrible floors now...

I'll check with @ar92 what's happened mate, he may have returned the money to the original donors. He was on here last night so I doubt anything is wrong - he is a decent lad.

Sergei- just so you are aware mate they sent me an email telling me they were going to refund the donations. It only received two donations and I'm sure I read that you didn't really like the idea of monetary donations.

I should have let you know that's what had happened really, apologies.

No worries mate, it's ok. I just start to think about the carpet and just thought about it so that's fine.
Cheers

Thanks mate, appreciate your PM. Thanks for setting it up in the first place ;)

I appreciate I'll probably come across as a bit of a tit here, but in terms of the costs of a carpet, would that not be covered if you sacrificed a few nights drinking and tickets/travel to Wembley etc.

Quite a few people have put themselves out for you and haven't asked for a penny, maybe I've got the wrong end of the stick and maybe I should keep it to myself but can't help but think someone is taking the piss slightly.

FINALLY.

And heres me thinking I was being an arse for thinking it.

I don't think you're a tit for wondering, I think it's a legitimate concern when you see guys helping Sergei out but he's off to Wembley in a few weeks, but just to set the record straight:

I think the Russian supporters club have sorted his ticket out for Wembley (think it might be at no cost, but not entirely sure), and his travel down there was a birthday gift off a couple of mates.

He doesn't go out on the booze very often either, and I think when he does socialise it is to get over being stuck alone in a flat a lot hoping to hear back on jobs etc. for weeks at a time! Most of his match tickets are season tickets off friends and the like, some at no cost.

I'm sure Sergei doesn't need me defending him, but I get how in here it looks like he's waiting on us to provide stuff for him some of the time.

That isn't really the case - people have been very generous, but Sergei doesn't expect anything, and I've no doubt he is grateful - when he asked for help in the first place, he was in dire need.

Fortunately he's had a bit more luck with jobs, although temporary or with no regular hours, so things could be on the up.

That's good to hear, may be a little more regular communication is required then rather than posters reading that @Russian Evertonian is off to Wembley (which many others cannot afford/can't get tickets)/going out etc whilst wondering about how to afford basics at home.

The Everton community, and in particular the GOT community always support those in need, but at the same time, need to know there's a genuine need and thus an explanation of other events is not too much to ask for. We know Sergei is a long way from home and isolated from his family, but at the same time no-one wants to feel that they're taken advantage of (which now appears not the case, but without explanation may be thought of).

Aye, I think that is more than fair, I don't think he will mind providing a few more updates on where he is at!

I can think of a good number of people here who have helped and/or befriended Sergei purely through this communications that were made via this site, and that is generous and commendable - and so it is also perfectly reasonable that you might want to hear from him.

But let me assure you, he isn't mugging you off!

Good stuff mate, I know you and others have made huge efforts to help Sergei, and hopefully others will in the future, but let's keep everyone informed ;)

Well in for getting that out into the open mate, I'm sure many others have thought the same and hopefully the main man @Pienaar's gloves has put people's mind at rest. I've been to Sergei's a couple of times and I can assure everyone he's not living it up - think of the comedy from years ago - the Young Ones and then move the house they lived in, to Breck Road !

Lads, if I suddenly stop posting please tell the authorities to follow the polonium trail.
