it may just be spin to show how honest and worthy he is - an attempt to get a bit of breathing space. I have noticed a little bit more pro-Martinez feeling today.

I think you might have a point.

I think he has been pummelled enough, by myself at times it must be said.

If it is true he offered to resign and Mr. Mo turned it down then that is a plus for Roberto in my book.

That being the case and he ain't going anywhere, our job is to get behind the manager and team over this next eleven or twelve days.

And let's hope this saga brings him to his senses and he starts addressing our defensive frailties.

I'd say that's the other way around mate, it looks like he's been confronted which is beyond out of order. I want him gone as much as the next man, but that's too far, to the point I feel for him.

In Moyes second season when we finished 4th to bottom, he lost the players. Stubbs and Ferguson led the revolt.

That summer we lost Rooney and somehow Moyes regained the trust of the players and we finished 4th. It could happen again, not saying it will but it's possible it could happen with Martinez as manager. Pulls off a derby victory next week, them wins in the semifinal and he potentially could buy him another season if he goes on to win the FA cup.

Stranger things have happened.

I remember reading Moyes's thoughts on that.

The important thing was he sat down and asked himself what God was doing wrong.

He said when the players came back after the close season, he welcomed each of the personally and made a lot of changes in the dressing room at the training ground and the Park.....including putting their picture over their peg.

Can Bobby search his soul like that?
