Expectation...... where do watford expect to finish in this league? They are above their expectation and target for the league. Fact. thats why the fans are not on his back as much.

ACCEPTING criticism for the poor performances and protecting the players. what a coach should do.

Expectation..... where should we be expecting to finish? its certainly not 12th and certainly not 9th. With our squad. both is a massive under achievement.

I feel its just another excuse by some to make a mountain out of a molehill and actually becoming really boring now which i think reflects more on people themselves than the actual events at the club.

When you have posters posting Martinez comments in every different thread here it also makes it hard to read through the constant nonsense and i dont envy the mods having to go through it all due to the same posters off topic remarks.

Baines was Missinterpreted and follow that with saying in another job he would face disciplinary action, disciplinary action for what exactly - you do know the interview was given inside the ground after the game in an area that journalists are allowed to ask the players for interviews and its the players choice - freely allowed by the club to do so?

also show me how Baines has apologised to the group? - show me the exact quote saying that from anyone mate - disciplinary action for you if you can't boy...

In order

1. They weren't misinterpreted but quoted correctly
2. Martinez said that baines was misquoted that's the issue the rest of it was his usual nonsense.. See point 1
So now we are comparing ourselves to watford. Roberto will soon have us happy to avoid relegation.
3. Put into context doesnt mean looking at the last 3 games. Put into context means look at the league season, the fact we are 12th, the fact you are comparing us to watford and the fact that we have 9 wins most of which were against the bottom 3.

Not part of the #MartinezOut lot, but I can see a few fallacies in your arguments.

1. From my understanding, Baines directly spoke about the lack of chemistry within the team at the moment.
2. Watford are a newly promoted side who have only spent a fraction of what we have. The comparison there isn't there to be made.
3. The West Ham performance was tactically one of the worst I've seen as an Everton supporter. The complete lack of match plan is bewildering.

1-- Depends on "how" he presented the topic to the interviewer...also he should thank himself lucky hes a footballer because hed be discliplined or sacked in any other line of work.

2-- Fair enough but they have still not performed as they were doing before that point.

Also were in the realm of 9-11th on our wage and transfer budgets so were not exactly underachieving either

3-- It was Martinez tactics which should have put us 3-0 up even with 10 men. Mori then should have cleared two headers...

All about opinions really. Id be quite angry if this was a team with investment behind it and we should be achieving higher BUT the numbers simply dont make that case for a much higher position than 8th or 9th.

Just for the record, taking Baines's comments out of context would have been "Baines says players can't connect with Martinez" or "Baines wishes Martinez's Everton could combine like Ranieri's Leicester" or even just "Baines slams Martinez for lack of chemistry".
