Fair point, and you're right I would still consider us under-performing even if we were 8th, the overall quality of the "top" teams this season meant that there wasn't a massive gap in quality, this has been a complete wasted opportunity this season, there's no reason that we couldn't be in Leicesters situation right now, only difference is they we were winning all those tight games, while we lost or drew them all, confidence plays a massive role in the players attitudes towards games

I'm sure Watford have had moments they could point to where things have not gone their way but what does Quique Flores say "The responsibility is on the coach. Me. I need to focus on what is the target. They don’t respond in the way I like because I am not able to transmit the necessary ambition to play the Premier League games. I prefer to assume the responsibility and I have to support the players."

I'm honestly sick of people coming on to the forum saying some variation of why are you bothering, it doesn't make a difference, what's the point, your opinions don't matter.

It's a forum for expressing opinions. If people have a problem with others expressing opinions it's probably best to stay away from an opinion forum.

Rant over

Those opinions are the same opinions that make the game such a negative, crappy thing to go to. I got fed up with wasting my Saturdays surrounded by moaning, whining, entitled Soccer AM, Sky fans who care more about their club winning a title than enjoying the game and being part of a club

Well then stop buying in to the media circus and the thing that keeps turning it away from being a club that was rooted in an area, and mattered to the people who went, and into a mass marketed global brand that is less about sport and more about being a signpost for a beer.

If your problem is with brand globalisation I think you're a tad late

So you lost interest in the club that's fine, others haven't

Listening to Martinez's interview, can't understand what he's on about when he says that the hype of getting into the semi's has affected league results, surely a cup win against Chelsea to get into an FA cup semi - final should have put us on a huge high, something that should have had us up big style for, and full of confidence for the league games that followed?

He makes us sound like a championship club when he uses the word 'hype' of reaching the semi finals, you can imagine a lower league club losing focus but not a top flight team, making us look small time.

I think the simple aspect is that Martinez can't see out a 90 minutes game. the west ham game will always be the prime example of it, any other manager hits 75 minutes and puts 9 men behind the ball and makes it hard to break them down. Why we didn't is down to the manager only.

Even things like west brom / palace. Yes we had many shots on goal, but what changed during the 90 minutes? The same approach on the hope it worked, no different approach to the game whatsoever. It makes me sad when i see people on here blaming our defenders for not seeing out a game for the umpteenth time, yet they follow instructions out given to them by the manager. It is like last season, passing it about 30 yards from goal, i highly doubt ross was doing that out of instinct.

So give up and let you whine and moan about the manager not giving you a trophy straight away because you deserve one don't you? For all the work you've put in supporting one of the biggest clubs in Europe

I've said it before but the board need to save him from himself at this stage. The ire towards him is only going to get worse and there's lids out there that will take it too far.

Come onboard. Have an opinion. Don't deride others for having one.

3 years, hardly instant. So you prefer to see one of the biggest clubs in Europe on a downward league trajectory and putting in pathetic performances
