Ha Ha.

So the first Everton manager in 21 years to win a trophy is rubbish and would be sacked?

You're living in a fantasy world mate.

Midtable and winning a trophy is success.

Utterly desperate.
Yes and Alex Mcleish won a league cup with the mighty Birmingham and look where they are now! A cup win should not overshadow 2 years of under performance in the league. There is only one person who is desperate and living in a fantasy world and that is Martinez.

That's got to be made up, right? Is Chicoazul doing his blag tweets again?!

So Coleman needs to be taught that it's not a sensible option to try and clear the ball in the same direction as where their striker is stood behind him with his leg outstretched? Shame of it is, he couldn't even do that and completely missed it. lol. Fail to see how Martinez can be blamed for yet another piece of inept defending by our so called potential title winning team.

I want Martinez gone right now by the way, but not prepared to let the players off when they can't do the basics that would see them even break in to the top 10, let alone near the top of the table.

We just seem to talk so often about individual errors. It has to be somewhat down to the coaching that a once solid unit under Moyes now ALWAYS has an error or two in it.

Hire a competent manager and watch the mistakes peter out.

I would dearly love us to win the FA Cup, I doubt that even if we win the cup it would be enough to save Martinez. I don't want to be cup winners and relegation candidates within two years, or sooner. I honestly believe Martinez will get us relegated if we give him enough time.
As for the cup, I pose a question, if Watford or Bournemouth were in our semi-final spot how confident would you be that one of them could win it.
Look at the league table, Martinez has brought us to the level of Bournemouth and Watford.
We are progressing backwards.

I agree with you mate but the statement 'we are progressing backwards' sounds like something RM would say! The word is regressing and there is no way to dress it up with fancy language but I'm sure some will try.

Splutter, splutter, did their GK make any saves?

SOME MORE SNIPPETS FROM HIS POST MATCH INTERVIEW FROM TODAYS GAME:

"There were two games within a game. Up until the goal, we were the team with a better tempo and we always looked a threat"

"The goal was a very soft action, it's not up to our standards. The performances were very, very level, and we shouldn't have lost the game."

"It's that sort of game that came down to small margins - the ball hitting the crossbar is the difference between us getting something out of the game"

"We are a young group with great potential, but our home form hasn't been anywhere near good enough."

No difference whatsoever.

Still, at least it gives the lynch mob a great time.

I dont know what they get out of fuming away on social media about a matter they have zero control over. They seem to like it a lot though.

I have a feeling they'll be piped right down in the cup SF though.
League form does matter for a number of reasons:-
1) If you're playing well and doing well in the league it helps with your confidence when playing semi finals etc
2) It gives you an insight to whether you are progressing and how you are going to do in the league next season. Look at the second half of the 83-84 season, out of the last 19 games we won 9, drew 7, lost 3. A clear indication we could have a great league season the following year.
3) Doing well in the league shows players you are developing and moving forward as a team.
4) You can qualify for European football.
5) It matters in terms of prize money and revenue.
6) It establishes a winning mentality.

Yes winning a trophy is important but to dismiss league form as irrelevant is bizarre.

What garbage are you chatting honestly? So the footballing God's from above are going to come into your life tonight and say ...

"Hi Davek, if I give you the choice, would you lose at Anfield but then win the FA cup ... I promise I'll make it happen?"

You've not once answered my question in my several times of asking so I'll do you a favour and answer it for you. Our motto means "Nothing but the best is good enough".

Nevermind that though, let's forget that, let's take a defeat at Anfield and play a game of pretend choices. 24 months of absolute tosh and you come up with gash like this.
Look, we've won 15 trophies in our 138 history. Do you think I';d be remotely arsed if we had to lose to that lot to make it 16 trophies?

Dear me.

Anyone not thinking that way is a bit strange, imo.

I hop that answers your question.

Excellent point, we can do that. In fact, 1st is within this top 5 thing I mentioned.

So why not? Oh yeah, not important, it's all about the cup.

Could you at least try to address the argument I'm actually making rather than the one you think I am?

We should have won the league this year or at least be where west ham are in challenging for the top 4 and it's a complete failiure that we haven't.

But we didn't, we messed up (primarily, imo, because Martinez messed up) and we've now lost any chance of having a good league campaign.

At this point any result in the league is not going to change that. We win all of our games left and we still won't do anything.

Now that's sad and I hate it.

But it does mean that a league loss doesn't hurt me as much as it did two years ago when it meant we missed out on 4th. A cup loss however will hurt me.

We have all our eggs in one basket.

There are two games which I will go nuts if we lose. This one wasn't it because we'd already messed up so much that it didn't matter.
