i don't really see the hype with him to be honest, the only (lol at only) thing i've really see him do is score the goal to win the world cup. He's not even first choice at club nor country at the moment is he?

No he isn't, but he is a really talented player who Klopp gets the best out of. One problem I would say is he jumped ship to sit on Bayern's bench, he was adored at Dortmund before that, I never really have a great love for players who happily think they are too big for a club and go to sit on another teams bench, they then talk about winning trophies that they very rarely had any major input in. See for example, remy, begovic, bony, Arteta and such as recent examples.
