John Stones

Imo,

Sit him down, explain the calibre of players we hope to sign, the direction of the club, the stadium, his future (captain?)

If he still wants to leave then let him. Its a simple as that for me. It isn't farfetched to only want quality players who want to play for us - Baines, Deulofeu, Barkley.

Couldn't agree more. If there is to be money spent on players then we need a complete review of what we have got, what we can keep and what sort of players we can now bring in.
Surely everything now changes for us. We need to look at every detail of the club to see if it what we want and is there now money to improve it.
I hope we don't piss away any investment on piecemeal buys and just adding to what we have. Time for a whole new plan.

Great post mate.

Agreed Dario and 45m is not to be sniffed at. Could certainly purchase a couple of top players with that dollar.

I think City will be sniffing around Barkley as well, ideal player to take the place of Toure. Thankfully my sources ( which are the little Everton voices in my head ) tell me he won't be going anywhere for a very long time.

Lukaku and Stones can be replaced. Barkley is staying full stop.

I see Barkley as a future captain, not Stones

Stones struggled all game, never looked settled in his new role, Need to keep him on the sideline for sometime to recover his form.

I was upset that he put in the transfer request but with the time gone by and his performances during I am not particularly bothered anymore. If he goes that's fine. We can always get someone else in, he isn't irreplaceable as Mori has shown us.

Dare I say do you think his performances may have dropped on purpose?

He would be a fool to leave.

Chelsea = Would have been a disaster for him.
Man City = Possibly a good fit with Pep.
Arsenal = Wouldnt pay
Barca = Wouldnt pay
Real = Possibly
PSG = Cant see him going there
Bayern = Cant see him going there
Man Utd = Possibly a fit with Mourinho

City and United perhaps due to their managers (pep and if mourinho) look most likely but they dont bring stability nor are either guaranteed titles.

If he wants games and to win things then he should stay with us. We need to make 2 or 3 very strong signings to keep him i think and so he signs a long term contract.

Its important to remember that not only is Stones 21 and developing but so are many other players in the squad. When Martinez adds 3 or 4 more then it will look more complete but continue to improve due to the age of the players and consistent game time together.

Imagine how good he "could be" when hes 26+ and has been playing with Mori/Besic etc for 5 seasons....it would be telepathic understandings across the pitch and its clear Besic and him get on behind the scenes as well.

He also has a manager who will support him which is crucial.

We shouldnt think that his recent performances (in front of tim howard) mean he should go...we should hope he learns from them and stays with us for 10 years+ and becomes the best ever English centre back.

Barca wouldnt pay?
What planet do you live on Zatman?
And hes only just signed a long term contract, balls in our court, young John will stay, the only concern I have is Lukaku currently, but im more confident with Fazzy onboard that his Agent wont bully us.
