I was actually at the game in Salvador.
I haven't seen the game back on the TV, but From where I was sitting (half way line), it was poor finishing by Belgians and cant recall any save any professional keeper couldn't make
Look he had a very good game that night did Timmy - he made a big number of saves mainly on his backside - our problem was - it gained him a three year extra lucrative contract deal till the age of 39 years old!

My thesis that Tim was indeed crap has been vindicated. I am glad that the matchgoing support has triumphed over the internet beauts.
not that you have used this forum on the Tim Howard thread likelol
If I could get to a game now I agree the fans that can get there have made their voices heard!
Before anyone starts my health will not allow me to go ok!

Tim is crap. But he was fine for a long time. He no longer starts for us.

We can either a) petulantly repeat the obvious literally hundreds of times, like indulged posh children or b) grow up about it

this thread is a "kopite-all-but-in-name" detector

Biggest load of bullshit on this thread.

During that particular game he had the best game any keeper has had. (my opinion but not unreasonable)

It was a game of a life time and obviously he hasnt even come close to replicating that in a game since...but dont try to diminish that game. Every shot Belgium took was on frame and he was off his line constantly "controlling his box" and every starfish worked.

I wish he was able to continue that into his days since but completely asinine to try to tarnish that highlight to further your agenda.

Your opinion
I was at the game, and that was my view watching it live! As I said I haven't watched it back since

Tim Howard move to MLS in trouble

Could wages become an issue for the proposed move?

This was always going to be a question and the same reason Aiden McGeady didn't go back to Celtic this past window. If Tim Howard is unwilling to drop his wage demands then there is no way he's going to end up playing back in MLS. He's got name recognition and should have plenty of reason to get paid well back in the United States, but he's not going to make what he would have made at Everton next season.

There is rumors that he also wants his next deal to go for 4 seasons, which has to scare MLS teams looking at him going till he's 40 years old at good money. If he sticks to his guns then it's highly possible this MLS switch falls apart before it even gets close.

What does Everton do if Howard won't move back to MLS this summer? That's the million dollar question. They might try to sell to another Premier League side looking to take a shot that Howard can still play like his World Cup days, but he can also fail to take that move as well. Hopefully the lack of playing time here as Joel Robles has overtaken him really makes him take the chance to leave and not drag out the ordeal.

There wasn't a link or any reporting in that story. Which means the only outlet who's reported about wages is... The Sun.

Still think this gets worked out. Everyone has a reason to make a deal. I don't think any PL team would sign Howard as a first choice keeper and his marketing value is zero if he's rotting on a bench or playing in the Eredivisie or something. Everton need his wages for a replacement. MLS loves their aging stars and they're good at bending or creating rules to get things done. I'd be amazed and quite upset if he was still on the Everton books September 1.

That's some sweet sweet corn right there. Well played.
